Bummer.... "What About Brian" canceled...

I hate TV! Just when you get into a show, the network cancels it. Yes, I know it's all about money, but sometimes they don't put the show in a good time slot. I'd think it would be cheaper (and smarter) to move the schedule around a bit before cutting a show off. Most shows do develop a fan base and then you're left with a bunch of disappointed fans when you cancel the show. I much prefer to see a show bow out gracefully, like "The King of Queens" did this past week. At least we had some closure! I loved "What about Brian"-- I actually gave a crap about the characters!

I am wondering where you heard "What About Brian" was being cancelled. I just visited ABC.com website and they still have it listed but does not give a date yet for when the show will start its third season. They just had there "season finale" on March 23, 2007. So I think it is a little too soon to have the third season start. Could you give more info on where you heard it was being cancelled?

Yes, ABC announced their new fall lineup today. Here's a link about the shows that won't be returning:

Thanks for the info. I followed your link and according to that website it will not be back. I just don't understand why ABC still has it on thier website it they don't plan on bringing it back. To me it would seem logical if they just removed it if they didn't have any intentions of having a third season.

My wife will be very disappointed when she hears about this as she really liked the show. That's the problem with all these new shows...it's really hard to get invested in them because so many end up cancelled. I'll usually pick one or 2 a season and hope that they make it. If another show seems really good (that I don't watch), and gets picked up for another season then I'll buy or rent the DVD collection of the first season and catch up that way.

I know, I hate to invest the time anymore. Every time I like a show it gets yanked!

I know I could have swore that I heard earlier this spring that it was coming back and all of the sudden wham comes down the axe on a really great show. :( I was super sad to see it wasn't going to be coming back.

The show has never done well in ratings. This isn't the first season, so ABC has given the show time to find an audience. I'm sorry to see it leave without a conclusion, but the network can't keep losing money.

Thanks for the information and the link. That really makes me sad, I looked forward to it every week. I did see that the story line was getting a little weak, they seemed to be struggling with where to go with it. They could have figured something out though. It's hard for me to find a series I really enjoy, now what am I going to watch?
