Do Other People Tell Your Child/ren What To Do?

My neighbors are constantly trying to tell my children what to do. Especially, if I am not around. I figure they have enough bosses, they don't need the neighbors ordering them around. I am not talking about important things like....staying out of the road, etc. My so left a piece of paper outside. Instead of letting me know, the neighbor stuck his head in my window and told him to get outside and pick it up. I couldn't believe it! It would have been nice to let me know, since I am his mother. Has anyone had issues with other's telling your child/children what to do?

Yeah, that is over the top. I think I'd have had to point out that I'm the mom.

Yes I have had this same issue with the people that used to live downstairs from me, it was a couple and there young son. One day my 4yr old daughter was outside playing (I was there too) when my daughter said the words "sneaky fox" and I dont know if anyone watches Dora the explorer on nickelodeon but thats my daughters favorite show and dora calls the fox who always tries to swipe there toys a "sneaky fox" I dont think there is anything wrong with her saying that at all!! But anyways my downstairs neighbor thought it would be okay if she tells MY daughter not to say that cuz those are "bad" words. I was in disbelief for acouple seconds that this person would think they have any right to tell MY daughter what to say as if she even knows us that well. I didnt make a scene I just told her that my daughter is allowed to use those words & to me there isnt anything wrong with the words "sneaky fox". So yea it is annoying when someone thinks they can just give advice where advice isnt needed.

No noone does that here, I actually hardly see my immediate neighbors. They are always in the house.

Luckily this has never happened to me but my son is only 14 months old so i'm sure that could change at any moment but I definately think it's over the top and if someone has a problem with your child then they should tell YOU and not take matters into their own hands. Ugh, the nerve of some people!
