Are You Tired of Spam Letters about Lottery Winnings.

Nowadays I am getting three or four notices every day that I would have won some big money from lotteries I have never heard of. They usually ask for personal information so I think they may be some sort of identity thieves. I never buy lottery tickets or play on any gambling - they only rip off people and only a few win - I rather earn the money with honest work. Does anyone know anything why we are getting these spam mails, are they identity thieves or what else could they be??

You are right, they must think we are a bunch of stupid people, there are often many with the same headline and text. My filter takes away most of them from the inbox but it is rather annoying. I hope there will be some solution to this. I have sometimes answered the spam mails with an invitation to my business opportunity.

Yes, everyday I got spam letters of lottery winnings. At first I was curious about it until I think of searching it on the net and found out that it is a scam. They kept on coming. I report it to spam and delete it immediately. There are those disguising but eventually they are connected to each other. Sending a spam letter is one way of stealing the identiy of a person specially if they are not smart enough that they get fooled easily with the offers.

You are right, that may be the main purpose with these mails. Especially one mail box is full of them even if the spam filter takes away many. It is important to remember that if we put our mailbox address on the net, it could be misused by some scammers.

I can't even count the number of "final notices" that I have gotton from this one scam. Apparently I won 1.5 million dollars and they so badly what to give it to me. I think it's up to five emails a day that say about the same thing, each from a different sender, and it claims it's from the United Kingdom.

Basically the question there is you didn't bought lottery tickets so how can you possibly win?hehe..THese are all scams. I've been receiving the same and I just discard them. It annoys me sometimes receiving those scam letters.Just do not give any of your account information or simply don't give in into their requests. Tc!

i think almost all of us with e-mail addresses received such spam and scam letters from different lottery agents informing us that we won in their lotteries. i had one specific e-mail address which receives these scam e-mails. fortunately, all my other e-mails adds do not receive such. as a piece of advice, please do not reply to these kind of "traps" by online thieves. do not give information to them about your personal details. or just ignore these letters and delete them.

Nowadays I am getting one or two notices from the same company every day that I would have won some big money from lotteries I have never heard of. When I first received the notice, I was very happy, and I thought how to spend it, but now I'm very tired of such notices. They often let me send some money first to them and then they can send the winning money to my bank account. They say I have to pay for the bank fees first. Then I say goodbye to them and warn them not to bother me.

Someone must have sold my email address to people who spam with these lottery mails. I can get ten or more a day so I should be very rich by now if they were true..:o) There is a spam filter in the e-mail account though, so it has helped to weed out many of them

I too have been receiving lottery winning mails on a daily basis saying i have won under promotional games by uk loto, from ireland, nigeria etc etc. One of them said that i need to contact the bank. I looked in to the details and found that the bank did exist but there was no department as mentioned and neither the person to whom i had to contact. I now simply delete them as and when i receive them. I think the main intention is to ask for fees to remit your lottery amount and then you suddenly find that although you paid the fees the cheque never came.

I too am tired of receiving these letters about lottery winnings, whether it is through email or regular mail. I get these several times a week and find them annoying. I just delete them or throw them away as I know they are scams and are either trying to steal your money or trying to sell you something expensive first. People will do anything to make money, including stealing and committing fraud and other things. There are some people out there who do not want to work so they try and take advantage of other people.

Everyday I am getting lotteries, many other offers, medicines, I don't know and of course millions of dollars. What I shall I do,it is never ending, if I try to bring some trucks will not be sufficient for transportation and where I will keep it, we have to build on some flats like Empire State Building.

Yes, Buenavida, I have also been getting these type of e-mails. I believe they are nothing but a means of finding out your personal information in order to try and scam you. I just delete them. Also, they could contain a virus or malicious malware.

I also notice that they come in clusters. I've been getting a bunch of them lately and they always say the same thing. They've been trying to get in touch with me and I won a lot of money from something I filled out at a mall or a movie theatre. Right away I know it's not true because I never fill anything thing out anywhere. One time I called a bank that supposedly was holding all this money for me and the bank said there was no such account for any lottery winnings in mine or anyone else's name. All I can say is be very careful.

On Mylot, I usually get a lot of messages about sites that will pay you this if you do that. Regular e-mail I just get the usual spam about everything from money to medicine.

i wholly agree with you, i am completely skeptical of some leter coming into your mail saying that i have won this amount of moeny, worst, after i have done nothing at all to 'win' this money! i also believe that they are identity thives or people who want to sell your contact information to companies who spam emails to random accounts.

There are so many scamers on the internet it is a really sad thing. I get theses lottery emails all the time. I guess they send them to so many people hoping someone is stupid enough to fall for it and give them their personal information. I also get the emails where they tell me they have all this money and are dying and need to give someone the money that will put it to good use, it is just so bazaar what people will do to try to steal your identity.

Really, I can't believe that some people I know actually believe these email scams! I automatically mark them as spam and don't spend time looking at them. I haven't really been receiving them lately (thank God) but I used to get them a lot.

No, not at all. I don't really read the emails I received from them. I just delete it so it's alright. At least I have something to do.LOL... I don't know why they keep on sending spam letters like that. Maybe they are just thinking, that someone may be interested and join those things...

Most of them are just BS letters that don't mean anything. Some however, like the one's from a South African Prince who needs you to set up a bank account for him to deposit money, are people looking to link into your bank account. Some people actually do fall for it and are bedazzled by the get rich quick scheme and take the chance. So far I haven't heard of anyone getting rich off those things.
