Ok, so this is directed to all those fanatics who think that its ok for you to harrass or bombard people with your religion. How would you feel if I came to your home at 8am with pamplets and books about the occult and paganism? Or if I sent you things in the mail asking you to convert and come to a coven meeting? How would you feel if I stood out infront of your childs school and handed them information and books about my faith? You would probably have a freaking fit, so what makes you think that its ok for you to do this to others? What makes you think that your religion and your faith is so much more important than anyone elses and their rights and beliefs shouldn't be respected? If you wouldn't want me or anyone else doing this to you then don't do it to others.

I would say "thank you for coming by to visit me. I am a Christian and I would like to tell you about Jesus Christ and His love for you." I may would even offer them a cup of coffee or something. I would not be mean to them.
Do not overcome evil with evil, but overcome evil with good.
God bless.

well apperently she was having a hard time understanding english so I figured I'd try spanish, if she doesn't understand that I'll try German or Korean, if all else fails I'll do it in Arabic. I figure one of them will have to work.

For myself I wouldn't have a problem with it but then I'm a pagan :)
I agree about the double standard that does occur among so many religions. It's not right that some feel that their faith allows them to shove their beliefs down others throats but if others even mention their faith or fight for the same rights they are accosted, abused or worse. In a land where religious freedom is supposed to be the standard I see it far too often only allowed to those with main stream religions.

It bugs the crap outta me and odds are people are still going to try to justify this backward action. Its wrong no matter what and they know it as well as we do.

I agree it's wrong and they shouldn't do it. It's sad but you always have some that feel the laws or rules apply to everyone except them. It happens in all walks of life.

They have now invaded my e-mail, lucky for me they go straight to my junkmail box. I wish people would understand that if I wanted to know about their religion or faith then I'd ask or look it up on my own but I don't want it shoved at me from every freaking direction. Damn fanatics.

Here it's about 7 in the morning and I am no morning person. The scary part is when it's a child on my door step with the adults waiting in the car. I had this little boy in a formal suit at my door one time. He must have been about 9 or 10 years old. I was appalled that they started them off that young as a Johovas' witness. So sad!

LOL if someone starts knocking on my door at 5am and they aren't a paramedic or a cop they are likely gonna need one. Cause I might just shoot them for disturbing me that damn early.

It could be worse! Imagian the day when a guy with an AK-47 and a Qur'an shows up on your doorstep and says; "You will convert!" If we are not careful that day may come.

I don't think those people are ever going to understand what they are doing. As far as they are concerned, those that don't belong to their religion, cannot be saved and they are actually doing us a favour by trying to convert to their religion. What the heck!!! In my opinion, only those people who believe that everyone's faith differs and God is not the sole property of any one sect or religion, will have common sense enough not to thrust their religion down another's throat.

I don't know where your from, but here in the USA there is FREEDOM of religion. That is why the pilgrims came to America.

Yes there is freedom of religion to some extent. Trust me if you go and say "Hi I'm a pagan" you'll get the wrong end of things from many people. Do a search on the web you'll find lots of news articles on those who are pagan or wiccan who are discriminated against.
Also freedom of religion does not given anyone the right to get into another's face and preach at them without premission. Freedom of religion is not all inclusive and does not allow one to hurt others in the process of practicing their faith.

I'm not talking about wiccans or anything like that. I'm talking about religions that promote God's peace and love. There are a lot of religions out there like that. How can talking about God hurt you in any way? On the contrary, it can bring peace of mind. Not every one wants to hear it and they don't have to if they dont want to. That's why there is free will. However, not everyone feels the same way you do. Some people like to hear the word of God.

I m a keen follower of christ. But i never go to church n i never ask my friends to go with me, its upto them. Religion is a way to keep the bad inside a man suppressed by tellin him that someone is above u , if u do anything wrong u r gonna be punished . A child if given a book doesnt reads it if it doesn't has pictures , so is a bible useless to them . We too were given bible in our schooldays , each n everybody , may it be a boy of diffrent religion . But as it was of less importance for us wat could it be for them. see no one can force anyone to take up his or her religion , its upto u that u accept it or not . So by distributing papmlets , books they r just wasting paper.

I'm Christian, but I totally agree with you. I don't believe in trying to push your religion on other people, especially strangers. I work front desk at a hotel, and every now and then, guests hand me religious pamphlets. I had one guy ask "Have you accepted Jesus Christ?" My answer was basically "Why is that any of your business?".
Chances are, the people who go door to door or hand out info are not going to change many people's minds. I'm sure there's the rare occasion that it happens, but usually people need a *reason* to accept a belief, not just because someone says it is true.

I would have to agree. I consider myself a christian. That is, I do believe in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I am not associated with any religion, however. The reason is because it seems that they all believe that there's is the only one, the only way. I don't happen to believe that. I actually happen to believe that we all, in essence, have the same God, just seen through His eyes. No matter what you name Him, or for that matter, how you gender Her, it is the All Mighty.
That said, I also believe in the Dark Side. And the power of Evil. Not my cup of tea, but Its out there and being worshipped and fed.
I'm sure there are some in between beliefs. And that is alright too. My philosophy about my beliefs....share when asked, but don't give it away.
Its always good to plant a little seed, but only when the garden is ready.
