Some people will have a glass of warm water, some ladies would have a glass of warm lemon water, some people would add honey into their water to drink...etc. What about you? What would be the first thing you drink after you wake up? For me I would drink a class of warm lemon water, because it stimulates the metabolism and I read that it's good for the skin and digestive system.

When I wake up in morning, I take a glass of cold water. No lemon, no honey or other thing. Drinking water since morning is good habit. It is good for stomatch, skin, freshness etc. We should also take water at an interval regularly. Only taking water in morning will not serve the purpose. But this is good habit. But only half of the people do this. Even after knowing the merits about it, we avoid taking water in morning after waking up. We should also teach the children and make regular practice of such good habit.

Hello, wondericequeen, the first thing i will drink after i wake up is a cup of water,it is in fact very healthy to consume a cup of water at the beginning of the day because there may be some toxins accumulated in your body for the night or when you are sleeping, drinking water will help to dilute the toxin and keep your refresh during the day.

Yes I agree, I think the body releases more toxins when it's resting. It is accumulated in the body and drinking water in the morning is like an act of washing them away.

Coffee for me. Just the smell of it brewing can wake me up a bit, and the first taste is just a fun thing to have in the morning.

I don't think that has anything to do with losing weight *laughs* but it sure clears out the waste stored inside the body. Wish you good luck on the big date!

Iced water, iced tea, or cold milk. It's often pretty hot here, so I wake up dry as a desert.

I start each day with a large glass of water, before consuming any food. This not only helps initiate the elimination process, but also allows me to better distinguish between hunger and thirst throughout the day.

I would have either a cup of cold water, a cup of milk or a cup of soyamilk after I woke up. I don't really enjoy having warm water, so I would just have a cup of cold water (but not from the refrigerator, just room temperatured). I'm not doing it out of health concern, I just think it's better to moist my mouth before having breakfast after a long night sleep. I heard that it's not good for health to have a cup of milk or soyamilk when the stomach is empty at the morning, but I don't care about this too, and actually, I feel that my skin looks better when I keep having a cup of fresh milk before I have anything in the morning.

Most days I drink plain water when I wake up, followed by a cup of tea or coffee. I try to wait awhile before drinking coffee to give my nervous system a chance to wake up. And, I usually eat a small meal first so that I don't feel too off balance with too much caffiene in my system.
