Damn Taxi's

My daughter and I walked to our local shopping centre today,which is about an hours walk.We went and did what we needed to and then decided we would get a taxi home as my daughter was tired from the walk,and it was raining and she wanted a ride home (she is pregnant).Anyway,we went off to the taxi rank outside of the shopping centre.When we got there we asked an elderly couple how long they had been waiting at the taxi rank for a taxi.They replied they had been waiting for almost an hour.A woman who had been there earlier had rung the taxi company to inform them that there were two taxi's needed at the rank.The woman got her taxi and off she went and the elderly couple were still waiting for another one to arrive 25 minutes later when my daughter and I got there.So my daughter rang the taxi company and informed them again that two taxi's were needed at the taxi rank.We waited and waited,still no taxi.I told the couple that when the taxi arrived for them to take it as they had waited so long.Long story short,no taxi arrived,the elderly couple had to catch a bus and my daughter and I had to walk home in the rain.I am not impressed with the taxi company at all! grrr

Nikki I do hope that you phoned the Taxi Firm and put a big Complaint in and if you haven't then I think you better to Sweetie
That is awful I mean your Girl did not need that in her Condition and you did not either

I wouldn't be impressed either. To think taxi's are always looking for customers. speeding thorhoguth traffic, squeeeling their tires,.. just to get us to our destination. That's really bad that the couple waited so long for service.. Is this a small town? there has to be other companies? Nobody should waiting that long!

No,it's not a small town at all.That's why I was so shocked and disgusted.There are two taxi companies here,that I know of.I hate the fact that the elderly couple had to end up walking in the rain after the company being called twice.

Call the taxi company and tell them how upset you are with them.
Is there a way of putting in a formal complaint?
Is the shopping centre a fairly large one? If it is, then it should probably have taxis there all the time.
I feel sorry for you and your daughter for needing to walk in the rain, and for the elderly couple who had to get a bus home.
It really is unacceptable.

The shopping centre is a fairly large one.It really surprised and angered me that this happened.I will be making a formal complaint.That poor elderly couple should not have had to catch a bus and walked in the rain.Especially when the company was called twice!

I have never had a bad experience with Taxis here in the States. Most the taxis here are owned by the drivers so they know they have to be ehre for their fares or they lose a lot of cash. Theres even huge lines at the train stations, bus station and the airport and hotels waiting and wanting business. I'd say call the company and complain explaing it all. Maybe you can get it resolved. It won't resolve the fact of wealking home for an hour in the rain. But they may do something to compensate for their stupidity in the bussiness area. Good luck.

The taxi service here in Melbourne,Australia usually is pretty good.I just felt so sorry for the elderly couple.I am really disgusted that they waited so long and then had to get a bus.From what I can gather they had a bit of a walk home from the bus stop,in the rain.
