Okay here it goes my upstairs bathroom faucet turns on by itself every day! And always around the same time. When I first moved in here I was alittle scared that I might have a ghost.LOL But Im not afraid anymore its just annoying because I have to go in and turn it off. What do you think about this? Is there some logical reason for this?

I dont know. You might have a goast!! I have been at my new house for a couple of months and shortly after we moved in I was taking a bath. There is about 6 diff light switches in our master bath and all of a sudden all the lights flip on at once!! It continued to happen. Just about a week ago my husband and I were outside at night when through the window we saw the light in the bathroom come on. The only person that was inside was my son who is 3 mo so I know he did not do it!! It is scarey!!

I think its a ghost- only because it does it at the same time everyday--- but thats just my opinion. Do you have a handy realtive or friend that can replace your faucet???? That would be my only suggestion other then an exorsism...lol

Incredible as it may sound, I wouldn't deny that ghost may be the factor behind all this. I used to have a problem like this. When I was in high school, my room was downstairs, away from all other family members. Almost everyday, around 2 or 3 in the morning i would hear someone taking a shower in the bathroom next to my room. At first, I would go take a look, and find that there's nobody there. I know i'm not the only one hearing this coz sometimes my parents or sisters would comment hearing me taking a late night (early morning?) shower. Sure I was scared at first but there was nothing I could do. So in the end I just took no notice. Yes, it was extremely annoying, as the noise was loud enough to awake me from sleep. Sometimes there were noises of things moving around in the bathroom. If there really was a ghost, it must have had some kick out of annoying people. We have since had that house renovated, completely discarding the bathroom. I still sometimes wonder whether ghosts really exist, but then again, thinking about my own perplexing experience, its hard for me to deny it. (I've had other, different experiences too) Though most ghost don't seem to hurt people physically, the psychological damage they cause is torment in itself. I mean, Terryz, did you remember what it was like when you didn't have to turn off your faucet everyday? Do you ever worry if your faucet is turned on when you're not at home? I don't know if it will help, but try turning off the mains to your bathroom. If there's a thing there, maybe it'll go away, finding some other victim.

Terry it is one of two things. If this happens every day, at the same time then somewhere you have a water pipe hooked up on a timer, or, it is a ghost for real.

I don't believe in ghosts. I also don't disbelieve in ghosts, either. I have an open mind about things I know nothing about, including ghosts. You may have a pressure build-up in your system that is somehow making the faucet turn on. The timer possibility is also possible, but I don't think so. You might try turning the water to the faucet off, and see what happens. After you turn the water off, turn the faucet back on until the water that was in the line has stopped, then turn the faucet back off and see what happens. If the water starts running again I would suggest that your sink needs an exorcism. Good luck.

I had a similar problem a few years ago when I lived in another home in another town. At about 3AM every night my back bathroom sink faucet would come on!!! It was like something out of a horror flick! Eventually I came to learn that my home was built without a 'pressure valve' or some such thing. Long story short, a plumber fixed it and it stopped. The pressure valve was needed outside, not inside the home! Boy it was really scary the first few times it happened!

I think it would be fascinating to look up the history of your house. How old is the house. I used to work at a place that used to be a convent. When I worked there it was where they brought kids taken out of homes because of abuse. Well, it was not unusual for fascets to turn on or at night you could be vacuuming at night and the plug would get pulled out of the wall. There were all kinds of things that would happen. I do believe in ghosts and that could very well be what is going on.

Well I do know this was an old blueberrie place I still have some blueberries out there. And there is the old building in the back where they packed them.

How strange!! I haven't a clue. Does it come on full force? When I was a kid our kitchen sink would slowly begin to drip, then faster and faster. My dad replaced the whole connection (faucet and knobs) and it stopped. I admit, I might have had the fleeting ghost thought. LOL
