I am wondering if people consider walking away from a fight to be the act of a coward or does it actually take more guts in doing that.I use to get involved in many fights during school and college like if someone ever racially abused me i'd knock them out but since taking a greater interest in Islam have calmed down a lot!.Now i've learnt to walk away even smile at being abused but do people consider this a cowards attitiude!?

Hi there Saq! I believe in the saying that it takes courage to fight and win but even more courage to accept losing and take it gracefully. I also believe that it takes more courage to avoid fights. It shows wisdom and class too.

i do agree with lifeorailey... it is true that it takes more courage to just walk away and smile about it and never have to fight again... people can say you are coward by doing this... but in reality you are more courageous, more discipline and have more self control over those who always picks a fight. when you physically fight a person, it only means you know nothing else... and is just putting up a brave act...

I think it takes more courage to walk away from a confrontation then it is to have a fight. It also shows who is mature in this type of situation. The way l handle situations like this is to kill them with kindness. So just keep on smiling and walk away.

Hello saq786!!! Well the person you are in to it with might think that you are a coward well I don't think that you are. I feel like it takes a lot of courage to just walk away because when someone is in your face provoking you it takes a lot to not give that person what they are begging for. I mean I am a very tempermental person and if you are begging for something, then I am going to give you just that or more. I just want to tell you that you are beating the statics and doing what a mature person does.
