cast iron pans

i love to cook. i love food and kitchen gadgets. i love my all-clad pans. i have one tephlon pan that's getting old. i feel like it's time i get a cast iron pan, but i'm intimidated.
do you use one? do you like it? are there any secrets to successful cooking with one? can i cook eggs in it? eggs are the primary use for the tephlon i have.

Thety are nice pans. My dad has one. You have to wash as soon as your done with it, NO soap{make food taste like soap} Then you have to add a little oil in the pan and heat it. It keeps the pan nice. I personaly dont like them. I find it hard to cook eggs on them. I have a pan that looks like a cast iron one but is teflon and it works so well.

I have a small one and my only worry is the rusting. You have to keep these pans dry so after you wash it dry it riht away.
And yes my hubby makes eggs in it all the time.
