Several times in my life have I been in therapy. Most of them haven't been all that helpful. The ones I had as a kid all knew my family, and wanted to blame me rather than my family members for the abuse that was causing my problems in the first place. I finally got a good one for a while, but she moved away. Just a couple of years ago, I tried therapy again, and the therapist wasn't good at being subjective. Certain choices I had made in how to live my life obviously offended him, and he just couldn't really treat me because of it. He did, however, give me some really useful information. I have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and disassociative amnesia. After I get some insurance things worked out, I hope to look for a new therapist, because I think it could really help me. Until then, I'm involved in some online support-group type things.

It is always good to speak to a stranger without judgement or involvement and leave you the choice of your acts

I have been to a psychiatrist, psychologist and therapist. The therapist helped me the most. But that was years ago and she has moved away. I know I need to make some changes in myself. I have been doing self-analysis through journalling and I really need to make some changes but don't know how. I have watched the DVD "The Secret" but one cannot make changes like that overnight. I don't know how to change who I am. You know what I mean? I am who I am. My doctor suggested hypnosis. It seems to me that might be the only way to do it.
