No, I'm not talking the cell phone. I'm talking about the home telephone. You remember the telecommunication device which was made by Alexander Graham Bell to transmit and receive sound. In 2007 it appears that everyone is either using email, texting, using msn, or talking on their cell phone. Does anyone use the good old fashion telephone anymore? When was the last time you called someone on your phone to talk?

LOL it's funny you posted this because I was going to call and cancel our home phone line in a couple of days. We rarely use it and with my hubby leaving I would rather save the $50 a month it costs and use the cell phone!
Hum, I think the last time I used it was a week ago! That is unbelievable!

I use my landline phone all the time. The only time I use my cell phone is when I am away from my house. I usually have it turned off and only use it for emergencies. I can't stand talking on the phone when I am driving. If I do need to use it when driving, I pull over in a safe place.
PEACE

TY for best response.
I actually had to use my cell phone while driving the other day. My Mom got lost on the way to my house and we were communicating on the phone while I drove around my neighborhood trying to find her. Thankfully, I did find her. She isn't very good at following directions. My fault though. From now on I am going to make her read back to me what she just wrote down!! She made right turns when I specifically told her to turn left! AARRGGHH!
PEACE

I am in the minority I think because I don't even own a cell phone. I use email a lot to stay in touch with friends that I have met online and a few I left behind when I moved. I rarely send anything but jokes to my mother but talk daily on the telephone to her. She is the person that doesn't have a landline and only uses a cell phone.

I still own a Princess type phone...its in the archives. However, I haven't had a land-line for seven years. Internet phones, and cells are what I use now. If I had my way, I wouldn't even have those, I'm a face to face type person but if there was an emergency...well, that keeps me grounded.

I own NO cell phone nor do I want to. It's just too much of a hassle. When I'm away from home I also wish to be away from the phone, mail, TV etc. I do have a phone system built into my car. Its called OnStar but it's like a pay as you go cell phone. It;s used for emergenicies only in a sense. My wife calls me or I'll call her sometimes when I'm on my way to pick her up. The funny thing is I have dial up so I tie up the phone almost all day long being online so I don't get calls and bothered. Hahahaha!!!
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We still have a traditional telephone in our home.(one in each of several rooms!) We use that for local calling and save our cellphone minutes for communicating between each other when away from home and for long distance calling. I don't know if we could stay within our cellphone minutes package if we got rid of our traditional line. Both of my older sons and their families only have cell phones. I guess I am just old fashioned!

I use the telephone. My cellphone is for emergencies and weekends. I can call for free those who use the same provider as I do. Those of my friends who have cell phones still have their home phones and use the cell phones when they are out. I did not call anyone, but my husband called our son on the land line. I do not like talking on the phone much. Comes from me having to work as a telemarketer several years back. You get people starting to hate you.

my hubby and i share a cell phone. so no matter who leaves the house, that's the person to take the phone. but i only use my HOME phone for work, and i talk to MY mom on it all the time. but when my MIL calls, she calls the cell, and when we EACH used to have cells, i always texted. i really don't LIKE to talk on ANY phone...so texting was easier for me. i could get my point across, ask my question, and not have all the side chatter!!

Well i use all of the methods of communication that you are talking about but i also use the good old land line. I must say i use it alot really. I have dial up for internet so it ties up my landline and i do need my cell for that so i dont miss important calls i forward to my cell. As for the last time i used my phone to call someone to talk was earlier this evening i called my mom. I use my home landline at least 6 or more times everyday. lol One would think i spend alot of time of the phone from that wouldnt they good thing i have a cordless so i can get my housework done while i chat. lol
