I haven't read the book but I've watched the DVD. It was awhile ago and I want to watch it again if I can find the time to just sit and watch without doing anything else (I'm a major multi-tasker). I wish I had the book. It would be easier to refer to when things are getting to me. One thing really stuck with me when I saw the movie. The power of attraction. If you think you won't, you won't. If you believe you will, you will. I believe the reason I cannot get a part-time job is because I really don't want one. It is not because I am not trying. I have applied for jobs and gone on interviews but have not gotten a job. The Secret, the power of attraction (negative in this case) makes sense. However, I don't know how you can possibly live like you are not in debt. How you can NOT think you are in debt. To do that you would have to spend money like you have it. That would just get you further in debt. That part really puzzles me. I send out a short story to a magazine. I thought it was a slam-dunk to be accepted and published. I was stunned when it was rejected. I was so positive, never once thought it couldn't happen, so according to "The Secret" I should have gotten it. I do plan on making a life map (a picture board with all my life's goals on it) and hanging it over my desk. But finding the pictures of all those things takes time and I haven't got the resources here at home. I don't want to print pictures off the internet. That's sort of cheating. I did have a friend do a mock-up of the novel I am writing (editing stage number 6). I have it hanging over my desk to motivate me to finish the book. It's kind of working, but not as much as I would like. I think it is hard to change your way of thinking. Sometimes I think only hypnosis would help you to do that. Though I have heard people say "The Secret" changed their whole life. I don't quite get it.

That's quite interesting. I have always had a sunny outlook on life, tend not to worry so much (until things are really bad) and seem to always find a way to cope with money problems. I just don't worry too much about those things. Contrast? My Hubby, who worries about it day and night, and thinks that nothing good will ever happen to him. He staunchly believes that he has bad luck. Things do happen to him, and it's usually about money. Don't ask me why - it just doesn't seem to happen to me, personally. Perhaps it's because I'm stingy. I rarely buy things for myself, always but things on sale, and make do with much less than he does. Oh, and I'm not planning on buying "The Secret" in any shape or form. It just seems silly to have someone tell me what I already know!

I'm in between the two thoughts here . . . leaning more toward Patgalca yet I know that strong faith and belief can bring about positive energy and in turn can turn a financial nightmare into a miraculous line of financial freedom. It's getting beyond the current status of life as thoughts change and retaining that gets difficult. I've not seen the movie yet, having borrowed the book as I felt the same as Darling. Additionally, I have a multitude of Bibles that house the same principles and concepts that the Secret possessed in its publication. So I saw no point. Yet, when I saw the Secret first mentioned (on Oprah) I found the speakers (some) to be inspirational in their stories and applications (of all faiths). Thanks for your comments!! Glad to see I have similar perplexing thoughts on this and know that I need to work on them to get to a higher level of positive movements in my life.
