Do you ever lay down with your child...

and just stare at them when they fall asleep? Do you look at their faces to see if they resemble you in any way? I often find myself doing this a lot, going over every inch of my sons face, looking to see what he has that looks like me. He has my forehead (kinda comes out a little - runs on my mothers family), a small beauty spot in the middle of his forehead (yes I have one too LOL), long eyelashes, my juju lips LOL and has the same shape as my face (semi-round). He definitely has my husbands thick straight hair, bushy eyebrows, nose and body length (torso and broad shoulders). Instead of his daddys short legs, he has my long legs LOL. Do you observe your child while they sleep? What features does he have of you? or your husband?

I have 4 kids and I watch them all sleep all the time. My 5 year old sleeps in my bed sometimes. And watching her sleep can be funny at times. Cause she fights with her sister in her sleep.

yes, most of the time i love staring at her..i love staring at her face, looking at her eyes while she's asleep, her eyebrows that she gets from me, her cute nose, her cute lips, her hair that i really love to smell, her forhead, eyelashes, her finger nails that really little, arms and legs.. sometimes, the tears is coming out in my eyes thinking of my past while she's inside the womb without her daddy in our side (actually he leaves us)..and i can't believe that i am already a mother and i'm happy being a mother..

I lvoe to lay with my boy and watch him sleep. I lay there and listen to his breathing and think of what a miracle birth and life and children are. I listen to his little breaths and think how I want him to have everything in the world. I lay there and think about what he will grow up to be. If he'll be happy in his job, if he'll get married, what hobbies he'll be into. I worry if he'll be happy or a workaholic. He's such a happy little boy who is easy going and gets along with everyone. I hope this continues all through school and the life beyond. I will lay there and just gaxe at the beauty of my child. Staring in wonderment that something that perfect could come from me. I love to watch him roll around and smile and occasionally he'll utter a few words in his dreaming. I hope that he is always having good dreams.... My boy looks exactly like my little brother when my little brother was his age. It's weird. I can hold up pictures of Josh (my bro) and Gabe (my son) around the same age and they look the same!

I do.... I often do that almost everyday...I guess its the time when everything is peaceful and looking at them laying there asleep, gives me a wonderful feeling of appreciation, just to have the opportunity to be their mother.

Yes, my son still sleeps with me. I intend to keep my family bed as long as he needs it... unless he hits 4 first, lol. My favorite time is watching him sleep and waking up to play with him. At 6 in the morning. He looks and acts exactly like me. Same eyes (only his are blue and mine brown), brow, lips, ears, face shape, fingers, butt, birthmark on his thigh and arm. He has his father's build, his feet, hands, nose, and whine. I hope he grows out of the whine.

I like to watch my kis when they are asleep or watching tv. My son is fifteen already and he resembles a lot to his dad. His head and body is like his dad. They also tell me he looks like me, I guess his nose and eyes resembles me. My daughter is 19 and she resembles my mom and her grandmother, on my husband's side. She is tall like his dad and her body structure is similar to her dad. She has my curly hair and the shape of my face.

Yes, I do lay down with my son trying to put him to bed. But most of the time he would sit on my face because he thinks I am trying to play with him. After about 30 minutes or so, he will quit and go to sleep.

My children are all grown, and I will catch myself looking at them now, if they fall asleep while visiting, or just sitting in the living room. I look at them and study their features. Then my grandchildren, I have watched them sleep many times and placed each feature they have with the one that inherited it from. It is so amazing to see all these little miracles.

I see alot of myself in my kid but I also see things that make her what she is.I didn't have half the knowledge she does when I was her age. She's very smart and know how to use it.She such a little angel when she's sleeping.

I sleep with my niece if I were to babysit her. So most of the time, when I pat her to sleep, I will lie down and look at her. It is just so nice to see them, so fair, so sweet and so innocent. It was a bliss watching her and lying by her side, and especially if she opens her eyes and give a satisfied smile.

Why do we look for ourselves in our kids? Take them for who they are rather than trying to love yourself in them. Face it, they are a BLEND of both you and your husband -- not one or the other, but BOTH. And, better than that: they are their OWN person. It is highly egotistical to search for yourself in your child. If you want to see yourself, look in the mirror!

Do I care what you think? NO so if you don't have nothing NICE to say then bugger off!! I don't need some rude person coming in here and calling me egotistical!!!!. Its just a general discussion and for you to come across as an @sshole is completely out of line! Bugger off will ya!

OBviously, you cared what other people thought. That's why you asked the question. If you don't like the answers, don't ask the questions. Like looking for yourself in your child, you ALSO ONLY want to hear what you WANT To hear, too. NO apology necessary. THis is a free country, we can say what we think. And neither your words nor mine were rude. They were what we think, not what we want to hear... and that is what this discussion is all about.

Yes, I have done this with each of my 4 children; I also see comparisons between the kids... My daughter got my facial features, thick hair, medium high forehead..high cheekbones...medium length, but thin nose, and fuller hips...BUT, she got her full lips, height, thinner body frame, and her greenish hazel eyes from her Dad... All of my boys got my facial shape...kind of heart shaped...blue eyes....reddish blonde hair...freckles....their slightly square chin, height, gorgeous eyelashes...long and full, and their thin & fine hair, they got from their Dad.

yes i do. im working away from my 6month old baby so wheneveri have the time, i would put him to sleep and lay down with him. a lot of people says he's such a good looking baby boy and that makes me so proud of him. the only features he got from me are his eyes and skin color. he got his father's nose, lips and hair. i still dont know if he's goin to be real tall which i wish he would but right now he's got chubby legs and arms. he also have really cute expressions when sleeping. like pursing his lips and twitching his brows which makes him look like my father.
