Will the requirements and expenses placed on legal immigrants be eased? Will those who did it right still be required to jump through hoops, while those who broke the law and paid MS-13 Coyotes to smuggle them across the border?
Any plan that keeps legal immigrants in a maze of bureacracy, but let's illegal aliens off with a small fine and a slap on the wrist is spitting in the face of those who did it the legal way.
Legal Immigrants deserve much more respect than illegal aliens!

Are you sure MS-13 has been smuggling immigrants across the border? I know I heard about Coyotes allegedly paying MS-13 members to assassinate border patrol agents, but I never heard of them actually smuggling themselves?

No, MS-13 doesn't drive the vans or anything like that, but they are the major funding, support and "protection"... in other words, they basically run the smuggling operations.

thats interesting, I never knew that, yeah those guys are really bad, especially in el salvador, their similar to the mafia down there but even worse, cause they usually kill anyone including women.

I tried reading through the news report earlier today about this, and couldn't quite wrap my mind around it...it seems somewhat convoluted.
As far as how this will affect those who try to do it the right way, they are probably going to get screwed.
I saw something about limits and educational requirements, but am going to have to look at it again when I have time to try to make sense of it.
I did see the fine, I think it was $5000, and as near as I could tell, most anybody already here was going to be more or less grandfathered in as long as they passed the criminal check.
I think what is happening is that Bush and Congress found themselves in one of those rare instances to where there was a problem so big that they had to find and easy solution for the fix, and they decided this is the best that they could come up with.
The legal immigrants do deserve better than this, but since when has a little thing like fairness and justice mattered to the government?
