Or have you gone totally modern with CD's, DVD's, and Laser disc. Come on don't be ashamed of the fossils you are still holding on to. I still have some cassettes and VHS tapes. I don't know what happened to all my records, but I would have loved to have kept some of the classics.
I never owned an 8 track, I think they went out before I got into music. Hey, how about a phonograph or a reel to reel. I remember in grade school we watched films on a projector. My sister had went on a boot ride for a school field trip and I saw the film on the projector. It was so weird seeing my sister on that screen.

I still have some 8 tracks (they were my parents I keep them for sentimental sake), I have all of my boyfriends old records (sentimental yet again). I still have most of my cassettes from childhood. I have my parents entire movie collection which are on VHS and Beta (before DVDs were affordable-otherwise my parents would have had tons of DVDs like me-I have almost 500 and have only been collecting for 3 years-I love my movies). I haven't all of them to dvd yet. Someday I might lol. Most of my own movie collection is now on DVD and CD format. I remember watching film strips in school. I think in high school my school district finally upgraded to VHS lol.

We still have a ton of VHS tapes, but I am going to be getting rid of most of them soon. We just don't watch it, we don't watch any DVD's either though. We also still have casette tapes, though we never listen to them either. lol I collect 45s, but I don't know where my collection is now. We also have 8 track still, though we have no way to play them. I want a lot of the music from them and then maybe if we can do that we can get rid of them. I imagine we still have some regular records around here somewhere too.

I do still own a bunch of VHS in a cabinet here at home. Mom still have some cassettes and VHS ones as well. I have a nice collection, but stick to watching stuff on DVD though. I may convert them in time or just have my VCR along with DVD for them.

Yes, Rozie37, I am not ashamed to admit that I still have a collection of cassette music and a collection of VCR tapes. I mainly hold on to them because I still have 2 vcr's and my stereo has cassette decks. I will not buy one without cassette decks. I've never burned a DVD or CD in my life, so I just hold onto what I've got. This way I have the best of all worlds.

I was just kidding about the being ashamed part. I still have two stereos with double casette players and a whole lot of casettes. I also have a VCR with plenty of videos. Some people can afford to buy everything on DVD or CD, but I will only buy my favorites.

I never owned any 8 tracks, but do have some 33, 45 and 78 LPs, plus some old cylinder records (80 yrs old, or so I'm told). I'm trying to convert all of my cassettes to digital. As for my VHS tapes, they were all lost in a super typhoon.

For the life of me, I can't remember the term for them. They were made by Edison Records. The last I looked, they were worth about $20 or $30. However, if you had the original sleeves, they'd be worth a little fortune. I don't even know where we got them or who gave them to us, but they sit in the closet. Maybe when I get my own house and can live a more normal life, I'll try to find a player and restore it.
Its amazing to show the young'uns what records were. The baby then tries to put a CD on the turn-table!!! That got my Dad rolling with laughter. The oldest got a kick when you put a 45 on the turn-table with the speed of a 78! For the rest of the day, they were sounding like a hoard of chipmunks! Dad had to remind me that I did the same thing...

I still have tons of cassettes and I have a fair amount of VHS's AND at my mothers there should still be some of my LP's as well actually but then again who knows about that one....she might have gotten rid of them for all I know..I hope not cause I'd actually like to get them back at some point....As for a reel to reel...we actually have a vintage one and I do remember at one point owning some 8 Tracks as well but I've not seen them in yrs so I really dont know whta happened to them...and last summer I had some phonograph records and was looking for a working Victrola but ended up selling the records instead....
I love the old stuff myself....as much as I love todays technology...I like the older stuff not because it brings back memories for me of certain happy times (which are rare for me) but they also are such a great reminder of what life USED TO be like before we all became antisocial robots and slaves to hi-tech ya know....

I still have VHS tapes and I have no idea what to do with them. They are cartoons and movies my brother and I used to watch when we were kids. A lot of them are Disney movies so there is a lot of money invested in them. What do I do with them?

Since the cartoons back then were a lot more wholesome than they are now, I feel comfortable with telling you to maybe give them to the children in your family. This is what I do if I buy a Disney movie that I think I may want to keep forever.
I always end up giving them away to some of the children in my family. I have eleven nieces and nephews, so I can always find someone who is age appropriate for the movie.

I still own a ton of LP's and 45's, as well as casette tapes. And my movie collection is mostly VHS. My parents have some 78 rpm records dating back to the 40's. I have slowly replaced some of those with DVD's and CD's. I had a reel to reel tape recorder from 1970, but it qiut on me so I pitched it a few years back. I didn't own any 8 tracks, but my brother did. I still have a movie slide projector that shows individual slides. I also live in a cave with rabbit ears on my black and white TV...lol.

I still kept my collections of cassettes and VHS tapes which include our wedding though I have a plan of converting it to cd or dvd.We still have the Beta Max though it's not working, has some defective parts already. I also experienced watching film in a projector, black & white. It's nice looking at them in a corner because it reminds of how technology had gone far and sometimes I still play my cassette tapes.

I have only cds and dvds, I did have a ton, like hundreds of cassette tapes until last year when I moved I gave them away, I hadn't listened to them in years and though they hold fond memories I didn;t feel like lugging them tot he new place, so someone came and took them off y hands, hopefully they are now being used rather than neglected

I have CDs, DVDs, but not Laser disc. I have lots of cassettes and love them; I can pick them up for next to nothing in thrift shops; I mean classic tapes! I can also pick up VHSs for next to nothing in these charity shops as they are called over here in fair England. I've never owned an 8 track, but I used to tape 8 tracks onto tape way back when. We had a phonograph and a cine-camera and projector when I was a kid. Those were the days!

I have some cassettes that I'm holding on to until I can replace them. I also have alot of movies on VHS that we are currently working on replacing with DVD's. I wasn't going to replace the VHS but the quality is alot better on DVD's...also with proper care the DVD's should last indefinately. My hubby used to have a big box of albums that we had hauled through 4 moves and finally decided to get rid of. My dad has alot of 8-tracks and still listens to them lol.
LOL

I still have VHS tapes of shows that I cannot bring myself to give up. These are of shows that I love so much. I found a tape with some songs that I used to sing but I cant give it up even though I do not have anything to play it in.
