Do you have a plan for it? I have started to save money for my son since he was one. The education fee is very expensive, and it'll just become higher and higher. I save money from now on and then in the future we have less worries for it.

Day by day new courses as well as education fee is increasing so it is must for all parents to plan in advance. This advance planning of saving for higher education will be of a great help in future. Small savings will lead to big saving. When the need will arise, this money can be used. Sometimes we have to send the children to foreign countries for higher education also. This is much more expensive. If we have not enough money, we cannot send foreign. Thus our children may deprive off from higher and good education as per international norms. No matter, what amount we will expense, may be returned after getting services. So saving plan from the day one is very much essential in present condition.

we started our children an account when they were born. It will take years to save as much as they will need by then.

since my son was till zero age, i got him a lifetime insurance payable for 13 yrs. it isnt that expensive. and when he reach 13 yrs. old, he gets money from it every year
so basically 13-his lifetime he gets money, that he can use for schooling, marriage, for his wife and children in the future, and a lot more.

I would save money as soon as possible. If you save now the money will be worth a lot more in the future if you put it into the right fund. However, I personally think saving for a childs education should not be priority. Retirement is first, then a childs education. Secondly, I think if one just gives money for the childs education then they will not work as hard if they receive money. I think they should struggle a bit and they will really understand the value of the dollar!!

We are saving now. We opened her account the day after she was born and put $50 that someone gave us at the shower. Right now we can only afford to save $10, but as soon as we pay off the car we will put more in each month.

I feel that we have been blessed in this instance. My inlaws give my kids/us $100 every year on their birthday and $100 every year for Christmas. This is college money.
So my 6 yr old now has $1200 in her colege fund + whatever interest it has made. We know that this probably won't be enough to get them all the way threw a 4 yr college, but it is a good start.

I haven't had a kids yet, but I save my money from now on. It because I will need it for my future days, with kids hopefully. so, saving money from early days will help you in future days. That's what i thought.
