I have been using AVG for several years now after struggling with both Norton and MacAfee. I actually did like MacAfee, but I was forced to stop using it. When I tried to uninstall it I noticed that some files never fully left my computer so that has made me wary of it. Besides, for a free anti virus program AVG is very good so I don't really want anything else.

I have installed norton antivirus software in my system. I did it because its one of the best and I could find out easily. The best thing I liked about it is its auto protect feature. But one bad thing about this software is it slows down your computer.

Hi sleepylocket,
I use BitDefender Antivirus Version 10. I saw a pcworld review in which its shown that it is a best antivirus thats why I used and installed it.
The best thing is its hourly updates, firewall, virus scanner.
But I think I am going to change over to Kaspersky or NOD32.
Try them, they are better and see it

I think this will work out for you and solve your problem.
Have a nice day.

I have AOL Safety and Security Center, which uses McAfee for the antivirus and firewall, and PestPatrol for the antispyware. McAfee's antivirus is not the best, but I feel their firewalls make up for it in a big way. McAfee focuses on IPS (Intrusion Prevention Systems) these days, and this really helps to protect you from getting infected in the first place. And since 1 in 10 legitimate sites are supposedly infected with keyloggers now, I strongly recommend a firewall that has IPS.
Because of the way malware works these days, I gather that antivirus will soon take the back burner as a more reactive scanner, while primary defense responsibilities all rest on the firewall (S&SC is this way already). Malware attack mostly system32 files now, and will usually cripple your system the first time they manage to get in. There is also an increase in the use of morphing code and rootkits, to further evade traditional antivirus scanning techniques. The key: Don't get infected!
If you'd like to know what the best antivirus is, my vote goes to Kaspersky for two reasons: It updates the fastest, and it offers the ability to create rescue disks in case your system files are damaged. But again, your first priority should be a firewall with IPS. I imagine there are a handful of effective products in this class, but three that have stood up to the test of time and abuse however long I used them were Kerio, BlackICE, and the latest versions of McAfee.
If you have any interest in the all-in-one suite that I use (it's free), you can get it here: http://daol.aol.com/safetycenter All you need is a free e-mail account with AOL (use it for whatever), and it's yours.
Hope this helps!

The best anti-virus is AVAST anti-virus.
Get a home edition and it will be more than enough.
it provides a real tight security.
When i switched from norton to avg ,i was able to find 4-5 viruses that norton didn't recognize.
and when i switched from avg to avast, i got 2 viruses undetected even by avg.
So i suggest AVAST

I am using Trendmicro office scan it is good for our server to track and stop viruses coming in. It also has internet security. Although i already have it, i also try to scan my pc with free online scanning in antivirus.com , 100% free scanning. That scanner track the spyware on my pc.

I'm using AVG. It's free and it does not give you the same headaches like norton and macafee.
