just like sitting outside on your porch or balcony or in your backyard etc and enjoy simply existing? I love doing that...yesterday I sat outside on my porch and walked around the yard taking pics and listening to the world "be" and I have to say that its somethign that just strengthens my Pagan and spiritual beliefs so much...We have a lot of wildlife around here (though not as much as I'd like LOL) so I'm always hearing the birds or seeing deer, foxes, racoons etc etc and then add to that having the sun on my face and the breeze rustling the trees etc I feel so complete, at peace and totally connected to everything around me ya know...Even when times are rough I can go outside and realize that no matter what happens in my life I'm always a part of everything and everything will get me through, whether its a sign from an animals unexpected visit or just a feelign I get from a warm summer breeze etc etc....
Even when I lived in the city back in Canada, with all the traffic and chatter etc I still felt connected to everything around me....Its just amazing..
Anyone else enjoy just "being"? if so what does it do for you or how does it make you feel?

YES, one of the great joys of my life!!!!!!!!!
We live on 5 acres just outside the city limits of a small, coastal town. The property on two sides of us is undeveloped for quite a few acres. We have a natural water pond, which attracts lots of critters, but mostly fowl types. We have a whole slew of rabbits out there. Even the tiny little lizards are fun to watch.
The wild rabbits will be out and about the yard, right next to our free range chickens. Have you ever seem a rabbit fight a chicken? They sit on their back legs and claw with their front ones. It is a really funny sight.
The viewing of the wild life does bring out the spiritual peace for me, I think of GOD and all the wonders of HIS creation. Too bad sin and man make such a mess.

I agree, it's a real shame that mankind has made such a mess of Gods beautiful creation.

yeah I like sitting outside and just relaxing from time to time. It usually helps me relax a little, sometimes I'll take a book with me and read for awhile.

I love to wander around my backyard. I have 2 favourite places where I like to sit. One is in with the chickens in their run. There's a bench in there and a passionfruit vine has grown all over the wire mesh to give the chooks some much needed shade from the Aussie sun. It's lovely and quiet in there and I can watch my friends pecking and scratching the dirt and finding lovely worms to eat.
The other place I like to sit is on a large rock just above where my 2 sheep graze. I'm out of reach of the larger of the two sheep, the one that broke my wrist, but the smaller one comes up and sees me and says "hello".
It makes me feel so peaceful and relaxed. Even though I can hear the traffic from the main road, it's like another world in my backyard. lol

It nice cause if you go far enough back into our woods you cant even hear the traffic anymore and my husband found a nice little clearing back there and hauled back a picnic table for me so should I want I can go hang out back there etc....but I have found lately that even sitting on the porch I really dont hear the traffic all that much anymore...not that I tune it out mind you but more like its a part of existing ya know...The ppl driving the cars, trucks, tractors, horse drawn carriages etc are here with me, existing and being right along side me ya know...

I love just "being", especially when I'm either in the countryside, or can see nature. I think it's very important in terms of centring me, and I also get a feel for the flow and energies of nature, and get back in tune with that. I've always felt this way about nature - a profound and powerful spiritual connection, which I can feel physically too. It's a wonderful and quite personal, intimate thing too, and taking in all that energy too! Wow!

" I think it's very important in terms of centring me"
yea me too..in fact the best way for me to ground and centre and snap out of one of my episodes (mental disorders acting up) is to get me outside, barefoot and put me in the grass then leave me be...its the FASTEST way to get me past any episode whether its a flashback or a panic attack etc..let me feel the ground beneath my feet and I'll be ok within minutes...

I think that just "being" in nature can help people in all sorts of ways. It helps you straightaway when you need to get centred the most, and I can relate to that a lot. When I was in my teens, like most teenagers I used to feel very pressured and controlled by my parents (there were often "atmospheres" because of my Dad's undiagnosed depression, and they were strict Mormons) and being too young to leave home (which I did as soon as I could) when things got too bad, I only had two means of escape: playing the cello in orchestras and other groups (which got me out of the house a lot), and storming out of the house down the road to one of our local parks. I had a special little glade I found, separated from the main part of the park by hedges, and next to a little brook. That was somewhere I could just be alone with nature, re-centre, and feel like myself again, which was very important to me.

Yes, I truly enjoy sitting on the deck or the patio in the summer months. I like to watch the sunsets and the clouds. We also have lots of wildlife. I use my binoculars to see them better. I soak in the sunshine and the warmth of the season.

It's too buggy outside right now but as soon as the heat really sets in those damn gnats will go away then I can enjoy sitting outside under a tree.

Nothing is simply more astounding than suddenly realizing that you actually enjoy simply BEING! LOL! :)
It's like getting hit in the face by a big refreshing gust of Gratefulness on a hot, humid and hellish day...
It's stops you with almost breathtaking Wonder, and a kind of "Brilliant Burst of Remembrances" of how You came to Be, Here, Now...
It's not the superficial, it's the Superior and Super Real and it's almost undescribable...
YOU ARE HERE, NOW!, You feel, taste, touch, smell with Senses, Known and Unknown. The feeling of existing Everywhere and Nowhere at ONCE, and without a shard of fear or doubt...
Everyone you've ever seen or heard or known sends reverberating thrills thoughout your Being, their voices, songs, chants and cusses, all exist within You...exactly where Gods and Goddesses Live...
The Omniverses and Universes meet at the Point Of You and ask "What is your Desire?"...
and you know that You Are Loved and Adored, just as you are, without needing any so-called adjustments what so ever... just like a Tree, a Rock, a Bird or Star or any one of Species of Infinite Lives and Number of Element and Thought-forms and Essences EVERYWHERE and NOWHERE... and all is Well And Good...
May Joy, Abundance and Peace Be With Thee, and May Love, Vibrance and Wonder move right into Your Lives as You Read This Command...
Right Now, Right Here, Throughout Time and All Existance or Non-Existance...
May Blessings Abound! :)

We have a mountain just where i live and one of my favourite things to do in the summer is to go up to the top (there are roads up there) and just bring a bottle of water,a sandwich and a good book and then just sit there for hours.
I just love Beeing and i am so looking forward to this summer =)

Yes I get like that at times too. And basically the same way you do.
The moon makes me feel like that too. Just staring up at it and the stars around it makes me feel apart of things instead of unimportant and insignificant as some people might view it.
It's a really incredible feeling - isn't it? It's like...unconditional love.

I thought this was a purely me thing! Thanks for being part of my band wagon. Yes! I love to just BE. I live in the country and I lvoe to get a good cup of Hazelnut tea and go outside and sit on the step and just veg, take in my surroundings, breathe the sweet country air, hear the birds, watch the butterflies, the grass blow, the shadows grow (depending on the time of day). I don't even really think of anything. I just sit and take it all in. It feels so good to dettach myself from the world for awhile. Sometimes I will get so far gone that someone can come up to me and be talking to me and I don't know they are there for a few minutes. I think we all need this sort of thing. Keeps us grounded .

I love to sit outside and listen to the birds twitter during the day and in the late evening I like being out there to hear the silence or crickets churping. The only problem is my daytime enjoying is usually interrupted with "MOOOOOMMMMMM, she hit me!!!" or "Mom, can I have a snack?" Well you get my drift lol.
Sometimes I wish I lived out of the city so I could enjoy the night sky. I think that is the most peaceful time of day and when I can just enjoy being.

ive done that so many times before and still up to m\now actually when i go home, i mean to my parents house. i live away from them cause of my school. anyway, everytiem im there, we have this swing located in our terrace and its a nice place to stay watching the clouds, the weather, the surrounding. just swing there till afternoon or till my mother call for snacks.=) theres no such thing as a traffic there or whatever like people walking on the street cause my parents house is in the farm side of the town. so its more on trees, farms -- you know.. sort of like that ambiance. nice place. its my home.

Yes, all the time. Lots of people think I should be cleaning my house or something more constructive, but I don't feel guilty in the least. What is life if you can't enjoy it?

I love to sit outside and listen to the wildlife and see them while they are out foraging. If I am feeling down, the best thing for me to do is to get outside, let the sun beat down on me, and just relax. I think this is why I love camping so much. No hustle and bustle, you can just sit around and take in the surroundings. I love to sit by a camp fire at night, and watch the raccoons come out to forage and play. Yes, they wreak havoc on a campsite, and you have to keep everything locked up, but they are so funny to watch, they play or find goodies in the campfires that are empty. I also like to sit outside and watch the rain falling and listening to the music it makes.

I just moved from a big city to the middle of nowhere Idaho and I LOVE IT! I spend most of my day taking care of my cow and my dog. I get to go outside every morning to put my little window garden on the ledge, walk out onto the hay field to make sure it is getting water, and at night I get to sleep with the door open and listen to the crickets and frogs. My family was afraid that I would have problems adjusting to the country but I couldn't be happier. First thing I see when I walk outside are the neighbor's horses walking on the pasture. If I really feel like taking in a little nature, I drive to the 380 acre hay field where I can sit and watch the groundhogs come out of their holes and sit in the sun. This is the first time I have been able to relax, which is wonderful since I have been suffering from a panic disorder for over 10 years. It is nice to take a full breath of air.

Yes, "bum" moments seem to be perfectly normal when I go to the outskirts, or what you call as rural country or countryside.
However, one could also qualify that as a reflection, a time for pausing and taking a sought after breather from the business of life. Nature happens to provide the avenue and the resources for one to be able to do so.

yup i feel peace in that way.. guess people really need the environment to feel peace not just the people around you. We are all human beings. I know your point. Thanks for discussing!
