I was just watching Sesame Street with my son and noticed that Elmo is left-handed! :) I did a search online and found that that is also true for a lot of the of other characters due to the method of operation (right hand operates the mouth, right hand the paw)! Isn't that interesting? Talking about Elmo, do you think it's bad that he talks in the 3rd person. Wonder if that's teaching my kid to talk in the 3rd person too.

hmm, I've never noticed that at all. My son likes Elmo, we have a bunch of the dolls, but I don't think talking in the 3rd person has or will affect him in a negative way.

My son hasn't been affected by the way he talks yet. He does know his colors, numbers, and more things by watching. He loves Elmo and has learned so much.

ya i noticed that as well. i don't think the way elmo talks will affect your child's talking. elmo is my daughter's favorite and she doesn't talk like him at all. never did.

Elmo is my son's favorite!!
Don't worry about the third person as many children start out speaking in the third person. Your kid should be fine.

Funny my 2 year old son loves Elmo (melmo) and I have noticed that about him being left handed. I guess that is something I will be looking for today when we watch the show. I guess it makes since though about the form of operation. And I dont think that him talking in third person has much of an effect on the kids.

yes, and from a website, his birthday is 3rd feburary (??) but he's always THREE YEARS OLD. hahaha
my son is now 3 years old, and sometimes, he say 'hengheng (his name) want this' or 'gorgor (because we have a younger brother, so we calls them gorgor and didi, in Mandrain means older & younger brother) want!'
i believe in time, this will pass and he will be speaking in proper english.
