I have read that marigolds and nasturtiums are edible but the article did not elaborate.
Obviously I do not want to poison anyone, so if anyone can go a little further and tell me which bits are edible and what you do with them I would be really grateful and so would a couple of other Myloters who sometimes call in for refreshments, come to that a couple I am going to visit too lol.
So you would be doing about a dozen myloters a really big favour, particularly those who are going to have these delicacies presented to them lol.

marigolds, you can put the petals straight into salads.
another favourite edible flower is Borage. the stunning blue starshaped flowers are so pretty, taste a little like cucumber (without the burping after)and they're just beautiful floated in a nice big jug of Pimms.

Well all that sounds very simple. Do you find that many people actually eat the marigolds? I am sorry to be so ignorant, I am just wondering whether they were popular, because they have a strong aroma I wondered if they have a strong taste as well?
As to borage in an ice cube, that really does sound sweet and I shall try that.

you can put them in cubes or float them straight on the surface.
when I put them in ice cubes I do half with plain water and half with a bit of lemon juice in the water. the acidity turns the flowers pink, so you get pink and blue borage flowers in ice.

Did you try the borage yet and how did everyone else like it? I haven't done any ice cubes yet as there has been permanent pandemonium here!

I haven't eaten marigolds, but I have eat nasturtiums straight from the plant as it was growing in the garden. It tasted OK too. Aparently you eat them raw.. But do so at your own risk, I am not very good at recognising flowers and I think they were nasturtiums.. LOL.

Oh great, you eat them but you are not sure what they are! Wo I would eat a nasturtium raw, hmmm isn't it silly, I don't think that I would want to, it would remind me too much of a butterfly wing. But I could scatter petals round a serving plate as a garnish and if the kids ate the lot nobody would be harmed. thank you :-)
