Are there any users that you just say "Oh No" when you see them as a poster?

There are certain mylot users that I greatly respect, yet cannot agree with. These are people that I feel are excellent sparring partners and I like them personally, but I know when I see a post from them, I am going to have an argument. It's not to say that I regret the post from them. I just feel that I have to make my mind work harder than usual in the cases of these people and sometimes I dread it, yet I can't stop myself. LOL. Are there people here who challenge you and make you dread at the same time? I don't want names, please. Just instances. Thanks.

There is a person that I feel gets my brain juices boiling. Always has excellent posts and takes both criticiznm and compliments well. Actually several people fit that category. Then there is also one or two that are just stubborn idiots and cannot see past noses. I don't regret their posts I just sorta skip a lot of them. Then there are the bible fanatics that really get me steamed. Don't get me wrong I believe, but gees, don't push so hard. They think that making bible people look narrow minded is going to influence and change people when all it does is send them running! No, I don't think I dread any of them. Just kinda have to deal with certain ones when I am in a certain mood.

The Bible ones are big for me. I love religious discussions when they are done respectfully. I have a good number of religious sparring partners. I seek them out, but I don't want to deal with them all the same. LOL. I'm a liberal Christian. There are a number of issues I differ with my fellow Christians about. It's easy to deal with a robot. It's not easy to deal with a thinker. These are the ones I love and dread at the same time. Thanks for your response.

I must admit, I do tend to respond to discussions I don't agree with. It isn't to argue, but to put out a different point of view. I am probably one of the "oh no" people for some, but I am not disrespectful. At least I try not to be. LOL

The one thing that I find very irritating is when people do not read what a discussion is about. They don't really answer the question asked and are just keen on promoting their referral link [particularly in the make money section]. They do not want to offer any support to anyone else and quite honestly they come across as obnoxious people. I have met many really nice people on Mylot but there are one or two that I wouldn't want as a friend if they were the last person on earth.

For me those posters are 4ftfingers and Adrenochrome. Both are obviously very intelligent and although they disagree with me on basically everything, they are the only people on Mylot that I believe can hold a real debate about politics and current events, or at least the only ones that do.

There are more than a few that I just avoid. They are scammers or spammers and the site won't deal with them because they bring in page views. If that is what they want to have at the site, fine, but I refuse to reply to their posts.

Sure I encountered such and enjoyed such discussions. I often took up the challenge. However, if I feel the topic risk falling into a more controversial category, I tend to avoid the discussion unless I really have something unique to add. It makes no sense for me to get into any heated debate.

There are a few people on here that my heart just sinks when I see them as a poster because I know I'm going to hate what they have to say but - like a moth to a flame - I just have to take a closer look and then of course I have to respond and it's all downhill from there! It's always about religion and I don't respect these few people - quite the opposite in fact! If I was sensible I would just move on and not even look at what they're saying but I just hate to turn a blind eye to some of the dangerous nonsense that they post.

Yes, I will not name names, but there are some posters that I really do dread on here and it is because of all of the drama that they love to cause.

We have a democratic place here in mylot and for sure from time to time we will encounter such things but its a part of a good debate and healthy discussion. Aren't that good if someone is opposing you and raising some idea or opinion that is different from yours. Its a sign that each of us here belongs to our own mind. When the going get toughs, what left is respect.

No, i just dont say much to anyone who wants to argue with me. I have found its not worth the headache. They will try to make you look dumb. So why bother? There are to many good people here to worry about the few bad apples.

It is always healthy if discussions become arguments on an intellectual level. However criticism should never turn to the level of condemnation and personality killing.

Actually,I feels that my lot is not specific for the persons who only posts what we want to hear from them(don't be offensive here please). It's an open discussions area where every one has right to posts what ever they feels about that particular topic.Besides names,if I do not feel any topic interesting I simply won't reply on it.I do not post my responses to those discussions which peoples are repeating,or which i do not find that I have any idea about it.Though I agree with you here that there are some peoples who post dumbest questions in their discussions which I says;"never mind",and I just go on.It is their mental level You cannot do anything with that.

I am new here, but another site I go to which is similar to this one (minus the earnings) I definatly feel that way. Any post regarding spanking children, abortion, politics, gays getting married/adopting. I think to myself "Crap..I really shouldn't look at that." Because I know I'm not going to agree 50% of the time, and then I have to work harder to come up with reasons why i disagree, even though I know why i do..it's harder to explain to other people, LoL. So I know exactly how you feel. But it gives the mind a workout. I enjoy a good debate every so often.

I thought it was funny in the first response that you said you are probably the "Oh no" person to some other posters. It's great that you are able to see yourself that way, and that you want to respond to the ones who make you think too much. Discussions where everybody responds with an answer that amounts to "yeah, I agree" are really dull...Kind of like my response just now.

I'm sure there are people that see me that way. =P I can think of a few people I feel that way about. Some of them I really respect and like to talk to, but I just know I'm going to be in for some real thinking whenever I see a post from them. Sometimes even if I'm online I'll have to let posts sit for a while before I respond to them, just because it takes so much thinking. Of course there are also those people that I don't respect that I say "Oh no" when I see a post from them. Like you, most of these things are religious issues. I am really happy in my religion, and I don't take attempts to convert me very well.
