Do you look all sloppy when you're at home?

There are many mylotters who are only staying at home. Even at home, we still have responsibilities and obligations to fulfill. Doing household chores, tending to our little ones, involved in some part time job, busily surfing the net or simply hanging out at the house.
My best friend is such a stickler on looking good herself even while sweeping the floor. She refused to wear any house clothes that has a hole in it. She constantly checked herself in the mirror to make sure not one single strand of her is sticking out. She told me, even using a nice neat "rag" won't spoil your look. In a way, I'm also like her.
Assuming I will hop in to your house to give you a surprise visit, what would I expect to see? Would you be dead caught wearing a ratty, old T-shirt? Do you still cared enough to make yourself look nice even while doing a lot of things inside your house? Or do you look all sloppy and didn't bother to check yourself? Do share your thoughts.

lol. I am a natural person and is comfortable only in Tees and shorts. As such, at home, it is always T-shirts and shorts. I do not have the patience to wear my T-shirts until there are holes, only out of shape. As no guests turn up at my house uninvited, I do prefer to be comfortable at home. Even if there is any unexpected guests, I am not one to receive them, so it is allright for me to be sloppy. Is T-shirt and shorts considered sloppy? lol.

All guests are welcome... preferably by appointment. I do not have a receptionist at home. lol.
I would not want you to hop by and in the end realise that you have to hop all the way back without even getting a chance to say hello after hanging around the corridor for hours.

Well I don't exactly look like a slob at home...heheh, but I just lounge around with just a big over-sized tee-shirt...I always keep a pair of jeans near my door though so I can slip into them when a person does surprise me...Uh, why--planning to drop by?? LOL

What you would find is my Hair Done my Make up on and me in my comfortable Bottoms and a Top
I will not wear anything that has Holes in or that looks Tatty lol
The Only time my Hair will not be done and no bit of Make up on me is if I am Ill. Apart from that you will always find me how I have always been taking care of myself and looking presentable When I go into town or for a Day out then I will either my Jeans or my Trousers but in the House I wear my Comfy trousers lol which are still presentable
So when are you paying me my Surprise Visit Charms? As I would love one from you

Good morning Charms,
I work outside of my home. And, there's narry a chance that I'd see anyone but family in my home, as I live out in the middle of nowhere. So, I tend to wear sweats, or shorts and casual tops when I'm around the house. Basically, clothes that I wouldn't mind staining or tearing while cleaning or working in the garden in my spare time.
Of course, if I know someone is coming by I'll definitely 'gussy' up a bit. Yet, I'd remain casual. If you 'hopped on over' right now, you'd find me in unshowered, and wearing sweats. It's pretty early here, and I haven't eaten breakfast yet. After breakfast, I'll be showering and changing into garden clothes. So, you might catch me with smudges of dirt, but no holes in my clothing.
And, if you did stop by unannounced, you'd be left honking out at the gates, with a bunch of dogs announcing your arrival. So, I'd have a minute or two to wipe off the smudges and fix my hair, a bit. Ahhh, the advantages of having a long driveway!

Ohh goodness you caught me ... I have worked from home for the past 2 years, when I first started working at home I would get up at the same time and shower and get ready as though I did when I was working in a law office, these days, although I do get up early, I sometimes go back to bed in the morning for naps, I wear the rattiest shirts, most have holes in them, but boy are they comfortable, I wear shorts or workout pants (usually the ones that are big and baggy) and I don't take a shower until late afternoon, right before my boyfriend comes home, so if you came to my house you would see what a nice, neat home I have and how dreadful I looked in it .. so call before you come so I can clean up.

I care about what I look like at home also but I am here all day by myself and I usually wear sweats and a t-shirt or shorts and a t-shirt. I always make sure I am clean and my hair is brushed. I always make sure all of the shores are done in the home also. I also make sure that I brush my teeth. I always try to look good if someone comes over and I always make sure my house is clean and straight. That is what you would see if you came over here. I never look sloppy unless I have been working in the yard and just got done with it.

Thank you charms88. I always try to keep my home and my yard looking good. It is a constant battle with all of the upkeep but somehow my husband and I manage to do it. I feel better also when everything is clean and done. I need to do some house cleaning today and cut the grass but I'm not sure how much of it I will get done when I am working online. I rarely go out also, but when I do, I try to be clean and presentable. That's just how I am also.

our home & office is 1 block away so I do wear wear decent clothes but not too "dressed up". Just everyday clothes of shirt & pants. since i'm always indoors most of the time, I tend to choose comfortable clothes but when there are visitors, i'll just make a quick change for a more presentable one.

I don't usually care to much on what I'm wearing if I'm just going to stay at home. I might even just wear my pijamas all day if I don't feel like looking for something else, besides pijamas can be more comfortable then some other clothes I own, nice warm, soft pijamas (: I also sometimes keep a simple dress near the bed, something easy to slip on, and use it as a temporary clothing till I find something else... can't walk around the house the way I sleep sometimes, especially in summer (don't ask lol), so it's good to have the dress besides the bed.

Eech, that must be very tiring!
I sure can't imagine having to always maintain my appearance at home, especially if all I'm going to do that day is stay at home. Don't you get tired of it or are you so into the routine of doing so that you don't even find it to be a hassle?
I sure don't think I'd manage, I'd get frustrated. Not that I look like a homeless person around the house, but I also wouldn't want to dress for company every single day, even if I'm not leaving the house for a single second.

Hi Bunny!
I am a stay at home mom so I sort of care what I look like, but I sort of don't lol. I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt, but if you were to drop by for a surprise visit I more then likely wouldn't have any makeup on unless I went somewhere earlier. I only wear makeup when I go out in public, but not a whole lot. No makeup is about as "sloppy" as I get lol.

A nice smelling bunny is always a bonus *giggles* I too like to smell nice so after I have my daily shower I will put on body spray! My 2 favorites that I have are Cotton Candy and Vanilla.

If I am at home, I don't really care. No one's gonna look at me and for carpet's sake, why would I keep looking at the mirror? If it works, it works. I once wanted to just dress in my formal attire so that I can pretend to be doing real work at home. But I gave out as I decided that would be too silly.

How strange, baby. Why do I need to enroll in some acting class? FYI, I acted (main lead sometimes) and directed both English and Chinese dramas before.

I make it a point to change my clothes when I wake up in the morning, it makes me feel better to look nice and clean even after doing chores and bringing the kids to school. I want my husband to see me dressed nicely even in shorts and a tee.

It depends on how the day starts and how I feel. If I feel like crap, you'll see me in my worst outfit. If I'm happy or feel a need to boost my mood, I'll wear something cute. No I won't wear a dress to clean, but you may catch me in a cute outfit. But only if I'm not doing chores that will ruin it. I guess you could say I like a little variety in my life. I have to admit that most of my clothes and accessories will be leopard print. LOL

Well I am completely the opposite! At work I have to look smart - high heels, and business suit all the time. So when I am at home doing housework or just chilling out , I tend to be as sloppy and slobbish as possible! In fact my ideal Sunday is spent in my slippers and dressing gown, and I never get dressed properly at all!! I can't see the point in ruining good cothes by getting them dirty/greasy with cleaning matericals or whatever, so I wear sloppy, old T-shirts, and baggy tracksuits all the time! And if someone comes to the door unexpectedly I'm afraid they will have to take me as they find me......... I spend all week looking smart for other people, so in my own home I want to feel comfortable for myself!!

yeah, whenever im at home,i don't dressed up nicely and neatly.Sometimes i do wear clothes with hole on it,and wearing old T-shirts with all the colors gone and pale..I don't care to dress up nicely when im at home and even don't tie my hair properly..Bcoz sometimes i would lye down on sofa n watch tv and my hair all gone messy again. So i rarely comb my hair when at home.Only when i got up in morning after took bath and comb my hair, then the rest of the day i don't bother bout that.
Sometimes my friends do give a surprise visit, and at that time haha.. i will run get in my room and quickly brush my hair and change to nice cloth and force to rush out to tend my visitors.Just sometimes feel bad about that when people see ur messy look when you at home..
Even though when any salesman comes infront our door and when i opened the door,i feel very very bad to give my ugly look.

Yes, whenever it's just me and I know that my boyfriend is not coming over, I look like a total slob when I'm at home.
Sometimes, I wouldn't even take a bath when I know I don't have anywhere to go to. LOL.
It's just that I'm always dressed up when going outside that I feel that my time alone at home is the only time that I could look like a slob without feeling bad.
