Have you ever wished you were older than you were?

When I was 13 I wished I was 15. Because in the amusement park I went to, only 15 year olds were admitted to the roller coaster. And since it was my fave ride, I wanted to hop in and enjoy. I was young then, and wished I could be 15 the next day! But now I'm 16, I realized the value of childhood. And that childhood has the best of memories anyone could remember. For you are once a child, it never comes again. Feel free to voice out your opinions on this. I want to hear what silly wishes you have made when you were young? Especially when you were 13.

Really? Sometimes people prefer not to go back to their childhood days. Probably because of the bitter taste of memories or some things that didn't work out. Anyway, thanks for your opinion!

I can't exactly remember what I wished for when I was 13. But as a teenager in general, I've made quite a number of wishes too, some are like the ones in the movie. I've wished of becoming a famous model: tall, skinny, smart and fashionable. When I see models on magazines and billboards or on fashion shows, they look perfect. They stand tall, not minding what everybody else is thinking about them. They seem to enjoy every moment of their career. Every little girl, I guess wished of becoming someone admired by many, someone that looks really pretty. I've also wished of becoming an office girl. I've seen ladies wearing corporate attire to work. They look smart enough with what they're wearing. Some of them wears a nicely-scented perfume, carries a nicely-made bags, and fetches a wallet stuffed with neatly-folded bills. I thought that when you work in an office, you get to buy expensive stuff. I'm in my late twenties now, and looking back, if ever I've become even one of what I wished for, I may not be happy, because really, you can't pretend you are somebody you are not. I believe that what I am right now, is really what I'm supposed to be... and I'm happy.

Wow, your comment was a bit long. I liked how you portrayed yourself years back. Yes, I do agree that if ever you have been one of your aspirations it will not be the thing you still wanted. It's because people change and their outlook in life. To everyone who gave their comments, thanks so much!

wow, children could sometimes be fair-weathered. at times they want to be older. and then, when they get old they want to be younger. life's a difficult jigsaw. lol. i do acting sometimes, dress-up and everything. and i would go and get my mom's shoes to put on and stride like a lady! that was a good time. and mom came out to see me modeling. she scolded me for not asking permission to borrow her shoes! hehe! thanks for the opinion! i could really relate to your children. thanks again!

When I was 13 I wanted to be 18, so when I'd be asked for ID I could actually still continue, but luckily they never asked for ID's that much back then rather than now.

I do not remember exactly what I wished for when I was younger. But one thing that I do remember is that I wanted to finish school right away so that I can work and help my parents in the finances at home.

the idea of skipping a single moment in my life never came into my mind. i want to cherish every moment of it from the moment i came on this earth until my last days. i want to enjoy and experience every part of it whether it is a positive or a negative thing. every experience is every part of you as a human. i dont wanna regret anything that will happen to me so as much as possible, love and cherish what you have because in reality, you can never rewind the happenings that you wanted to change--just like what happend in the movie.

There were a couple of times that I wanted to be older and that was when I was not old enough to drive. I wanted to turn 16 so I could drive and get my own car and go out and do things. When I was able to drive, I wanted to be 21 so I could go to bars and clubs and have drinks. After that, I never wanted to be older than I currently was or am. :-) I do not want to get older. LOL I prefer staying young.

When I was under 18 I always wanted to be older. After I hit twenty I realized that age is just a number. This number called age doesn't have to stop you from doing anything. I am proud to be 42 and in a few months 43. I do not want to ahead in time or back in time. I am who I am because of what I have done to this point and what I continue to do will make me stronger.
