In the last three months I have just potty trained two of my children. I started them on a weekend when I had nothen to do. I put big boy/girl underwear on them and told them that they were big kids now and that they would no longer be whereing daipers but at night. And then I put them on the potty every 30 minutes. After about 3 days I up it to evry 60 minutes. If they went pee they got a cheese it and if they went poopy they got one m&m. After they got good with the peeing part I got a sticker chart and after 5 stickers they got a cheese it and then week after week I would up the amount of stickers until they no longer thought about the stickers.

That's actually a very good method and idea. My son just doesn't seem to understand very well. He'll be three in November. He gets on the potty himself, but doesn't do anything. Then, right after he poops, he'll take off his diaper and run back to the potty again. I just had four days off and should have spent more time with it, but was busy catching up on my sleep since I work so much and am 7 months pregnant. I will definately keep this method in mind the next time I have a few days off.

MY son was three when I started potty training him. And it took about 4 months for him to full get it. MY daughter I started potty training at a 2 and half and it only took her a week. So in my on hands knowlege boys take for ever to learn. Not saying all boys are like this.

I've heard the same thing. I have three days off soon, and plan on working on potty training him. My newest problem is that I believe he's tongue-tied. If you've never heard of this, this is a condition where the little flap of tissue under your tongue is too short. It's stopping him from speaking correctly. So, now I'll be taking him to the doctor's to see about this problem. It is hard to potty train when he can't talk very well!

I use the 3-day potty training method on my daughter. The first day was the hardest for me as I monitored her for around 25 to 30 minutes and looked for signals that she's about to pee or poo. I'm glad my son is transitioning well from using the potty trainer into toilet bowl equipped with potty seat. I learned the tips from this page:

It will happen when he's ready, you cant push it, some kids take longer than others. If there is a new baby on the way that migh also have an effect on him, maybe you should wait until the baby comes and he gets use to the idea of being a big brother, I'm sure he'll be ready anytime soon.
