And do you want to know who it is.....
Wullie the groundskeeper out of The Simpsons.
The Scots have done many things, invented the television, steam trains, telephone, penicillian and loads loads more.
Celebrity wise we have Sean Connery and Ewan McGregor and Billy Connelly but...
they took a poll world wide and the most famous one is Wullie the Groundskeeper.

Ok, you got me with this one - I know Wullie but I thought it was Willie :( and knew he was a Scottsman...
I however did not know Sean Connery is and I love him. When my #2 son went in the Air Force we started a project, he's also a Connery fan. My son got a list of all of Connery's movies and we've started 'collecting' each time one of us finds one we email the other what we got and both mark that movie off our list.

LOL - it was bugging me so went searching - great information on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_characters_from_The_Simpsons#Staff
Groundskeeper Willie (Dan Castellaneta), "Principal Charming", Scottish groundskeeper
Unnamed parents, "Monty Can't Buy Me Love", living in Scotland
If anyone is a Simpons fan this page has a list of all the characters that ever appeared on the show - it was funny going down the list and seeing who I remembered, I haven't watch the show in several years.

That sounds like a good project.
I was debating if it was Willie or Wullie and I decided that in my city it is mostly Wullie so thats what him off the simpsons must be. Obviously I am wrong tho.

Lol, now that is probably the biggest insult the Scots can ever have gotten ;). Was it an international poll btw or an American poll? :P

Umm....I wrote worldwide as I was being presumptious but it might have just been American. I heard it on the radio the other day. I'll do a wee search and see what I can find.

Oh dear. I think that says more about the people who were polled than it does about Scotland. It wold have been interesting to see if they could also LOCATE Scotland on a blank map.

Very very very good point Woodpigeon. I remember Jimbo45 done a post about a train crash on the border of Scotland and England. It was a riddle and so many people said they don't border. How stupid!
