The other day we got some love hard wood flooring in. It's absolutely gorgeous but all the furniture keeps sliding around on it with the slightest force.
The sofa legs are wooden, wooden coffee table, wooden side table, and the rug - not wooden of course.
Anyone got any tips to give the stuff some grip?

I know it sounds crazy, but try double sided carpet tape on the bottoms ofall the legs and on the edges of the rugs.. Or you could try those silicone tips for chairs, they might stick to the wood better than the chair bottoms and they wouldn't scratch

Also, you can try using the plastic rubber mats used for cupboards and drawers. Just cut small sized pieces that fit under your couch legs and table legs. That should help hold your furniture in place on your laminate flooring. http://www.wisterialaneflooring.com

Superb idea but now I need to find out what it is called in the UK and where I can buy it. I have a craft store downstairs so will print off that site and take it to them.
Thank you.

Don't be silly, imagine all the fun you can have, jumping on to the sofa and sliding all over the room, my canine friend really loves doing that with our sofa and even the rug on the floor, can go skiting all over the place, I'll need to video it sometime so that you can see exactly what happens - one tip though, don't try it near an open window, especially if you live three floors up. You might just end up as strawberry jam, and I would feel sorry for the poor person who would have to sweep it all up.

Well I do live 3 floors up and have my window open quite often so don't really think I want to be doing that.

I also had hardwood floors in my old home. I didn't want my furniture scratching the floors, so I took an old rug with a rubber gripping on the bottom(just a rug from any wal-mart with a rubber bottom will do) cut it up in small pieces, and it seemed to work perfect. It kept my floor from getting scuffed, and I had no trouble keeping my furniture in place. My furniture never moved if I bumped it.
I promise you this will work perfect. All you do is buy a cheap rubber bottomed rug from a store, Wal-Mart if you wish, and cut it up in small pieces to fit under your furniture legs. It will keep your furnuture from scratching your pretty floor, and also keep your furniture in place. Good luck.

Ooooh good one!
I could sort that out I am sure. I just now have to keep on moving around the furniture cos everything is all over the place.

You can get very cheap stick on felt pads for the bottom of furniture legs that stops items sliding on laminate flooring, or those plastic discs that you put under them,l though they are visible usually so maybe not so gretr to have everywhere. These sorts of things are so cheap to buy from hardwear stores and such like!

Well i dont think the discs would work cos its not like the are just legs of wood but the legs are the width of table. Table is kinda like this underneath...
