Melinda Got Robbed!!!!!

It was unfair that Melinda went, she was the outright winner on this show and if it is just down to singing performance she should have won. But who is to say what the American public want, maybe they do not just want someone who is technically perfect like Melinda, there maybe alot of teenagers who think Blake has something special. Personally I don't see it, but I must admit Melinda didn't do it for me on the personality side either. I want Jordin to win and since Lakisha went I have been rooting for her, although I cannot vote as I live in the UK. They broadcast the show on a Friday in the UK, so I have to make sure I avoid any discussions about American Idol, otherwise I see the result before watching the show. I have to make one comment though on the awful change to the programme this year, why have they got that false Cat Deeley on there, she drives me mad and everytime she comes on with her false laughter and ar@e licking presence I have to turn the sound down. I am going to email the producers of American Idol and ask them not to repeat the same mistake next year. I really want to throttle her. GET HER OFF!!!

She wasn't American Idol type. She will still make it real big but the title wasn't fitting to her. She has way more class and talent than to take a title like this one.

I have been hoping for Jordin since somewhere in the beginning and I hope that she will win. Sure, melinda is a great singer but to me she sounds the same, no matter if it is a ballad or a rocksong she is singing =) I am sure that she will go far though and that we will hear alot about her in times to come.

Oh my! I couldn't disagree more with you- Isn't mylot great- Blake -in my eyes will win this- and he deserves to win it- He is the most unique singer in Idol history! Jordin is good- but not as good as Blake. I'm just glad that Melinda got the boot- I wish she would had gotten the votes off earlier- It's just who you like- I couldn't stand to listen to her- I wouldn't have bought anything she put out-- I will for Blake!

I really thought Melinda was going to win so I was surprised at first when she got voted off. But then I looked back at past seasons and realized that often the one who seemed to be the best, the favorite, the most likely to succeed, got voted off in the last or next to last round. And they went on to greater success than the winner. I would suspect that the winner is bound to a contract for a set amount of time and money, whereas the 2nd and 3rd place winners are not or have a shorter contract, thus freeing them -- now that they have had so much publicity and build a following of fans -- to pursue a better contract. Maybe Melinda really got the better deal.

I kind of have to disagree with you. I still think that while all these people vote for Melinda.. Melinda still does not believe in herself. To be an Idol you have to believe in yourself. Melinda lacked that belief from the start. With a voice like hers she should have been noticed a long time ago.

I like Blake Lewis.I think he is unique but I totally agree with you.Out of the three he should have went home.Melinda Dolitte is the true American Idol.I was really shocked this week when I seen her voted off.

I agree that it's unfair, but I love Blake. I don't understand why people are getting so angry about this, I mean, yeah, it should've been Blake that went home, but you can't control the votes and Melinda's perfectly capable of doing spectacular on her own. I mean, the contract for American Idol winners only lasts a year, after that you're on your own if you don't get another contract with someone else. Whoever wins deserves to win, and there's no doubt the second up will do great aswell.. Melinda's sure to get her own record deal. She's got the talent to take it as far as she wants.

I agree he can't sing half as good as Melinda and Jordin, he should not be in the final.

Yep, that was really unfair! Shame, America! Jordin, Blake and Melinda were the last three remaining and America's decision wasn't justified or by any means reasonable. Each performed three songs. Each received glorifying and shaming comments from the judges. Each went through good and bad performance nights. All three judges commended Melinda more times than any other contestant. Given the standard for consistency (as Simon would have wanted) and voice quality (as many would require), Melinda should be IN the finals. We've had enough of Paris Hilton and Paris Hilton-like performances. With minimal offense on Blake, Melinda deserves the place better than he does.
