When I have to go somewhere I always have to check maps, but I don’t like driving directions. I don’t like internet directions, because I can find easier road myself. If my friends are going to give me driving directions, make sure I am lost. In general, I am not good in directions at all. How about you?

I like both. I get the directions and then I look it up on the map. That way I can really know where I am going.

If a place is new, I would first ask my friends or relatives about that place. I would ask them to draw me a convenient and handy map for me...so I could locate the place. Otherwise, I would stop on the way and ask a passerby for the way, atleast twice or thrice...to make sure....that I have been told the correct way. Some of the passerby or shopkeepers I find are very helpful, they will guide you in such a manner....that you do not face any problem in locating your destination.

I am one of those that refer the map directions, i know how to read it , it i easier for me, and i do not like to stop and start basing my directions on people. Usually that works for me just fine. I usually do not get lost, and if i do i manage to find the road back again very fast.

Doesn't really matter, although for ease a navigational system is used here frequently to make things even easier.

I do much better with directions instead of maps. I can figure things out with a map too, but it's just less complicated for me if I actually have a whole set of directions written out that I can follow. That helps me out a lot since it tells me how to get to the location turn by turn.

I'm better at following driving directions if they are good directions. Following a map can get confusing and distracting while driving. My fiance recently bought a gps for his car because he does a lot of driving with his job. I love that thing. It is very accurate and gets you right where you need to go. You can even get it to give you directions by shortest route or directions so you can avoid interstates. It's very cool.

GPS is cool, but I found easy roads that you wouldn't find with GPS...or internet maps....

Hi there, I feel maps and detailed driving directions are both good. I aways go online before travelling anywhere and check out where and how far my destination is...

I use a mapping program that will give you both a map and turn by turn directions when you give 2 addresses. I like having both because if there is traffic or road work or other delays, I can make changes and get back to the main route if I want to. I just took a trip a couple of weeks ago that was about 150 miles, not far but outside of my normal travel area, so I made the directions, and made some adjustments to miss tolls and traffic. I also have the program set up on my pda so I can go there if I need to make major changes that are not on the map that I have printed out.

I prefer to have both maps and driving directions. In some places, I will get by with just a map, but driving directions are nice to have so that you can know where the highway exits will be. Those aren't always marked well on a lot of maps.
