How many icons are on your desktop?

I was looking at a friends computer today and she has NOTHING on her desktop on her computer. I look at mine and I have icons all the way across the screen. How many icons do you have on your desktop? What are they for?

I have many Icons in my Desktop.There are as many as 20 icons in the Desktop.All Icons are useful. So I have to keep them in Desktop.

Are the icons you have programs? Most of mine are pictures.
