I would suggest the Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It's a good story and easy to read. If you like it, you can also read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. These books were written for adults, but they're easy enough for grammar school children to read. My kids read them early on. Besides that, if you have trouble with any of it, the Hobbit has been made into a movie, to help you understand it. Hope this helps.
