There are so many songs out there that talk about sad love to today's biggest international issues. Songs could mean anything or even absolutely nothing.
I like to listen to music that talks about the innocent kind of love that lasts for eternity. No one night stands.
Then I also listen to songs that speak of strength and power. A song I listen to called "Blow me away" is about the struggle and character of warfare.
Most of the topics I listen to can be found mostly in rock music.

I like to listen to different topics, depends on the mood I am in. I enjoy songs that tell stories or inspirational music. I mainly listen to hip-hop and R&B...not rap...can't stand songs about how much money you have or how many hoes you can get at the club! I do like songs about love too. Any song that can empower somebody is great too, but to each his own, guess that's why there so many genres to choose from!

I agree. The genres are so extended now that people can find the right genres for themselves and not just the mainstream.

I love music with deep evocative lyrics and they can be on any subject really as long as it makes me think. I also find most of my favourite lyrics in Rock and progressive rock Music, people don't seem to put as much effort into their lyrics today which is sad.

In today's music, I don't listen to the lyrics as closely as I once did. I guess people are more attracted to the beats today and don't pay much attention to the lyrics so the music industry concentrates on the music and not so much the words.
