starcraft 2 just been released!!!!!!!

I know and seeing the trailer on the home page just made me more sick!!

World of Warcraft is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) from Blizzard. Warhammer is a table game consisting of player hand painted action figures and terrain which also has some RTS's (Real Time Strategy). Starcraft 2 is A LOT different from WoW... different story, different units, different gameplay (one is a strategy game with lots of player controlled units, the other is a role playing game in which you onely control 1 unit...). Warhammer... is more like Starcraft 2, though Starcraft 1 has been considered one of the best RTS, that's why it is still played in the most important world competitions (WCG for instance) though it was made in 1998 (Warhammer RTS, the most recent have 1..2 years). Starctaft 1 is a national sport in SOuth Korea! Also Warhammer RTS man units are squad based, Starcraft 2 won't be. BOth have Orcs... but A LOT of games have orcs. ;)

well, i don't think the wait should be too long, from what i heard, the wait will not be that large, one reason could be that there have been a lot ot game development tim since the launch of world of warcraft since 2004, well, the good thing is that it will be released simultaneosly all over the world, so the wait will be generalized, and for some people like me that live in southamerica, we will have available the game at the same time

Blizz said that they started working on it right after the release of WarCraft3 but most of the blizz team was working on WoW leaving SC2 shorthanded. I still going to be awhile until we get a release date, but i think it will be April 2008 seeing as it will be 10 years since the first one was released on April 1, 1998 and 8 days later it was released in Korea. My bet is April 2008. But we will see a playable beta and demo months before that.

well this came up in my mind : blizzard have tried to create an mmorpg with another fantasy world it created atn it vas very sucessful so why not try it with starcraft ? ofc it will lack the whole army VS army VS army thingy but warcraft lost it as well ant warcraft fans arent so sad about it... what will you guys prefer starcraft 2 as an startigcal game af MMORPG? so i am in a conflict : i realy like to lead ant entire army but ide also would like to play a zealot, 1 zealot who fights on hes own but ill think ill go with stratigic

i think starcraft ii on battle.net will be an strategic game from what i read on the games faq, but i'm not so sure, cause there was a part where they mention something about clans and that really confussed me

StarCraft2 is an RTS not an MMORPG. The clan thing you are talking about it just a way to make a clan and track your clan wars on battlenet, much like the ladders they have now. I dont see many clans still on SC nowadays but there used to be TONS of them. Nowadays SC is mostly a 1v1 game, but back 5 years ago you would see alot of 4v4s, 3v3s and 2v2s where you have clan battling against each other.

WTF, well, as you can see, this discussion was started 7 months ago, well, actually the title was wrong, it was cause the emotion of the moment, cause we've waiting a long time for the "release" of this game, well i think they are finishing developing it, it's a big step, and i think that we will see the game on 2008, well i don't want to make too much trouble, but you shoul watch your words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope you get one, from what i read on one webpage a moment ago, maybe a new expansion of WoW (world of warcraft) and maybe a new version of diablo (diablo iii) should also be released or announced after starcraft II announcement

I really dont think diablo 3 is going to be made anytime soon. Most of the people who worked on it left blizzard and made their own company. They are working on a game called HellGate: London. Its going to be the closes game to diablo you will see in awhile. I would love to see diablo 3 but i really dont think it will happen next. I dont know what blizzard has planned next, but I'm sure it will have something to do with Warcraft. Then seeing as things go with SC2, probly a expansion for it.

i can't wait for starcraft to be released, from what i read it will have an incredible single player campaign, with new characters and all taht, and also the multiplayer game, but it will be amazing, they're developing a 3d gaming interface or something like, i just can't wait to see what blizzard comes with. And it will be available for PC and MAC, but not for any other gaming console

"HELL, IT'S ABOUT TIME", amazing!!! you should go ahead and look into youtube.com, there are already some gameplay uploaded videos of the gameplay in the wwi conference in korea, the quality it's not that good, but you will be able to see the gameplay demo, about 10 minutes of demo made by the development team, look in youtube for starcraft ii playing

Well honestly, after watching those gameplay videos... I'm somewhat disappointed with StarCraft II. It just looks like they changed the units around and made the graphics somewhat better. The whole debris rolling off a ramp is weak. Compare it to Company of Heroes where debris can actually be used as cover. And the ability to walk up and down a cliff isn't that impressive. Maybe some more strategy will be necessary, but still I don't think I'm going to like StarCraft II as much as I first thought I would. The only things that were interesting, was seeing the new units. I especially love the Mothership, the Colossus and the Banglings. I hope the Terran and Zerg (and possibly the Zerg-Protoss hybrids) are going to be revamped to even things out. Maybe I'm not that impressed just because Company of Heroes has become King of RTS games. I can understand if Blizzard wants to keep StarCraft II like the original. But still, I was expecting more. Something of a Company of Heroes standard. Hopefully, it'll get better.

saorry for that, it's true, with all the excitement of the announcement, i made a mistake and put that its been released, sorry about that, right now blizzard continue to release some new information, principally about protoss, but all we can do is wait for what they say, its our primary source, but i think that the surprises for terrand and zerg will be great, from what we saw on the protoss, bye
