My Cat has ESP & can tell the time!

Every year my cat has to be vaccinated. And every year we have the same problem, only it gets worse.
She knows when we are taking her to the vet, & carries on & hides.
This year weas the worst. We hid the cat carrier. We didn't mention the word "vet" in her presence. We acted completely normal. She still knew. Came the tine to collect her & the cat had hidden herself. Eventually we found her on the neighbours roof. She did not return until it was well past closing time at the vets.
The vets had a big laugh the next day when I explained that my cat has ESP & could tell the time.

One of the funniest going to the vet situations I ever had was our cat, Sauci. Ironically, the vet's office had saved her from me after a hurricane, thinking I'd like to have her, so the vet himself gave her to me as a kitten.
We got the cat carrier out and searched for her. And searched. And searched some more. We finally found her by turning over the box spring under the mattress and there she was, doing a four-point hang on! We got her into the cat carrier after literally peeling her off of the underside of the box spring.

The situations cats, but especially kittens, can get themselves into is truly amazing.

Clever cat! When I still had my doberman pinscher she could spell! She also hid when we said vet so then we started to spell it and she still hid. When we got into the vet's office she left big wet, sweaty footprints on the floor she was so scared. The vet made jokes about the big fierce dog being nothing but a scaredy cat.

I believe you! Cats are really uncanny with that. My Moose always seems to know when I am coming home whether I'm working or going to the store, etc. My dad said before that about 5 minutes before I come home,he jumps up on the windowsill and won't move til i come home.

Tghis was like my old cat many years ago. He would go down the back yard, approxiately 5 minutes before my Father was due home from work, & wait for him.

I think it is true cats have unique sensory organ. My mom used to tell me not to spank a cat or I'll encounter misfortune. If you are about to go for fishing look at your cat's eye, if the white part of the eye is big it indicates high tide. Cats are very sensitive animal too.

Vets probably get lots of laughs about the lengths our animals go to to avoid them. Kind of like some people with doctors. Something about our demeanor must give away our thoughts, since we avoid the words that would give us away.

I think you are right. Cats are very sensitive and I believe it is the tone of our voice that they are perceptive to, not the words, at least that is what I have been told. But my cats are the same way about eating their dinner, they are sleeping all day long, and when it comes around 6:00 pm they come out of hiding and start pestering me to feed them, everyday the same time.

Well I wouldnt exactly say that your cat has ESP since animals do have the same way of sensing things the way humans do. Your cat probably knows the routine that she gets her shots since my dog was that way and he even got that way going to the groomer and he knew he was going to see the same groomer as well. Animals have 6

I think maybe cats sense our dread at knowing we have to go through the trouble of taking them to the vet. I had a cat that knew my moods perfectly. If I was happy he would come and have a conversation with me to try to get a treat from me, If I were sad, even if I wasn't acting different to normal really he would come lay with his head on my feet or get in my lap and talk to me. He'd run if he knew I was angry and strangely enough he could hardly be found when I had PMS. (Just like a man =P) I loved that little guy so much, his name was Timmy and he ran away when (against my judgment) we installed a cat door so that he and the other cat could go outside. His disappearance was just like losing a good friend because he was so understanding. He actually liked to ride to the vet in a well-ventilated backpack. We could even let him out in the car and he wasn't scared. The last time we took him he lost his family jewels though so I don't know that he would be quite so up for it if he were still around. I hope he made a new friend. That's hilarious that your cat knew to hide from going to the vet that well though.

It is funny how pets can pick up on little cues to let them know our plans. My dog knows when I'm getting ready to give her a bath and haircut, even though I get the things ready way ahead of time. When it comes time to do the job, she's always hiding and I have to practically drag her out from under the bed.

I know exactly what you mean. Cats along with other animals are very sensitive to not only motion but can sense stress, this is especially strong in cats.
