It is FRAUD! I got such a mail from some dumba$$ few months back, they asked for my paypal account, but I knew better and asked em to buzz off and put em on my bock list. Yahoo arranges no such prizes for its users. These annyoing spammers have sent mails to other people but they take their moeny away from paypal. So dont fall far it.

You haven't won $500 dollars, the good news is, that if you only gave them your paypal address, they still can't access your account without your password, which I'm sure you didn't give them. (I would make sure your password is something difficult to guess, just to be sure). I think this scam is mostly just trying to get your $8.75. Since it is such a small amout, I'm sure many people go for it. After you "purchased" your premium account, you would probably be told that you were now "entered" for a chance at the $500, if they even bothered to contact you again. Do forward the email to yahoo, and remember that you never get something for nothing, you at least need to enter a contest to win it. Good Luck.

I think it is a scam.Ask them to deduct 8.75 USD from the amount you have won and send the balance.I am wondering for what reason you have won such an amount.Did you involve in some games, lottery or projects?Don't disclose your paypal account or bank account.Avoid such mails.

Spam, spam, spam. If you hover over the link and look at the bottom of your screen where it tells you the full webaddress I can almost guarantee that it doesn't say paypal. Go to the paypal site (type it in the browser yourself) and go change your password. Someone probably just fished your password. Watch your accounts for a little while. Best of luck!

yeah i too got the same mail and when i tried to redeem that it asked for the premium membership. I think this is scam. First it was saying that get your free $500 then after it asked to take premium membership. Its better if you not tempt for this offer because there may be many hidden cost incurred if you go with this..

I agree with the majority, this is a scam program just to attract people to put more and more money in. Even worse, some program has a fake paypal website that link to, when u enter ur paypal account and password, they have ur infor and start sending your moeny away. Be cautious!

It is a total scam. They want you to pay them so you can get your Prize. Not the way it works. If you win a prize then they have to give you a reasonable opportunity to claim it. Which means a free way to claim it. Don't get sucked in. Once I took bad money orders from someone over the internet and tried to cash them that was a bad idea too.

Hi I have received similar mails, claiming to be from Yahoo... I can only say... Save your money, it's a sacm, and once you pay them through their paypal-link, they gain access to your paypal account.. Hackers are clever, and they are good.. So DON'T pay them a dime, delete the mail at once... Best regards Spuffe

SCAM SCAM and I say again SCAM. It is not from Yahoo. They don't do that. This is an email harvesting scam. I asked around after I tried to do it and found out I was lucky that I was broke. LOL

Sounds like a scam to me. You shouldn't have to give out your paypal account to anyone or pay out money to "win" anything.

I have got that same email and now I just delete it. It is just a way to get access to your paypal. The first time I received it I did open it and got the same results as you did. I never opened another one that said the same thing. This is not a genuine email from yahoo.
