Acceptance on Google AdSense

Well I submitted my blog on google AdSense. But my website was not accepted my Google AdSense saying that it does not meet their criteria. Can anybody at IBIBO tell me about what are the prerequsites of being accepted on Google AdSense. Since my site has not accepted, whether I can submit the same site after making necessary modifications to meet there criteria. Please Guide Me....
