The death penalty

This is a tough topic for me because I feel strongly one way sometimes and strongly another way other times. If that makes any sense. For instance when someone commites a brutal crime especially against a child, I am all for it. Suddenly, we hear on the news someone was executed that was innocent and I am against it. I am not sure I guess what my stand it except I wish the world was not such a violent place.
