Are you an Organ donor? Have you been affected?

The discussion about a heart transplant patient that died and then the doctors transplanted the heart again got me thinking... Are you an Organ donor? Have you been affected by a transplant or donation situation? I know I was discussing this one time and someone said that "The doctors and ambulance won't try to save you if they see that on your driver's license" I've never heard anything more ignorant in my life?

I'm an organ donor. The way I see it, if I die, I won't have a need for the parts anymore. I never thought about the license thing before. In any case, I carry a special card and have a power of attorney for those matters.
