This is actually an easy choice for me. I would rather lose my hearing (I am actually hearing impaired already). Even with a hearing loss you can still be independent, you are able to drive a car, shop, basically everything you would normally do. Being blind, you have to depend on others to help you with every day activities. The hardest part for me if I lost my eyesight would be never seeing my children and hubby's faces again.

If I HAD to lose one it would be hearing. I would rather have to communicate with sign language and lip reading than never seeing anything again.

Both. Although if I had to pick one I would say hearing. That way I could still do things that I love to do but it would just be so much quieter. Especially at work. A co-worker of mine at work has been deaf her entire life, until this last year when she had some surgery on her ears where they placed implants and hearing aides so that she can hear. She doesn't hear everything but enough. As time goes on she will be able to hear more and more. She said to me the other day, "How can you stand being here all day and listening to everything go on. I miss the quiet." She was referring to the constant chatter of certain people that never shut up. Also there is this one lady that sits between us that pounds on the keyboard when she types. The constant personal phone calls. If she wants to go back to being deaf it must be really bad lol.

For me? Better to lose your hearing than your eyesight. Its hard to become blind because in this it'll be hard for you to walk, eat, and see things that are important to you. The important part here is you won't get to see the beautiful world that God has given us. I tried blind folding myself and its scary because you don't know what's out there and you wouldn't even know if someone's next to you already! Sounds creepy right? But of course better not to lose both.

This really is a very difficult thing to decide upon. I don't want to lose my hearing because I love listening to songs, and jokes and laughter and words of my love ones. I don't want to lose my sight for I love to look at nature, I like to see happy faces and glorious sunrise and sunsets. Plus I'd like to see my love ones as well.
But if I had really to choose. I'd go for loss of hearing. At least, I wouldn't be much of a bother since I can walk on my own and do things on my own.
But hopefully, none would happen.

Thanks for the topic.
Anyways, here's a good joke about this topic:
An elderly man had serious hearing problems for many years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed him to hear 100%.
The elderly man went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor diagnosed, “Your hearing is perfect! Your family must be very pleased.”
To which the elderly man said, “Oh, I haven't told them yet. I just sit and listen to their conversations. I've already changed my will three times!”
