What gives humans the right to choose what animals are for? Some animals are pets and some are food. Some might say because the pet is loved by a human, therefore it shouldnt be eaten. But I have such a huge problem with this... Let's say, hypothetically, a cow had calfs one day, and one of them was taken to be a family pet, and the other was taken to a slaughter house to become veal meat. What makes the latter less important?

I agree with you, I love animals and it breaks my heart to think of them being slaughtered, I can't even stand seeing those poor animals being taken i trucks to the slaughter, I know people are going to say about the food chain and all that but I ask whats makes another being and what makes food. I have often said I hope they never find life on another planet because if they walk on four legs they will automatically be human consumption....
