I guess you liked drawing & painting pictures as a kid but have you tried to paint or use another metod to make pictures as a grown up? I love painting, It makes me so happy to create something. I have sold some of my paintings but kept most of them. What about you? Have you ever tried to make your own pictures? Are they hanging on the wall??

Yes, when I was a kid I loved drawing, sketchin and painting, and I was pretty good at it either,. I was sent ot a Painting school. I drew so many things, my most appreciated was a portrait of my mom and dad. I gifted it to them. But I stopped painting as I grew old, and lost all the works I had done. I have lost touch now.

I have painted most of my pictures when I was about 50 - so it is definitely not too late for you to start pianting again. I got inspired on a painting course lead by a real artist who also was a friend of mine. That was when I learnt how to paint and make it look pretty good.

Florida Panther - This was done several years ago for a dear friend.
I paint with pastels and love it. I didn't know I could draw or paint until my late forties/early fifties. I'm now 65. I take a class through the adult education program locally that gives me discipline and motivation to keep painting. When I'm not enrolled in class I get really lazy about painting. I've sold a few paintings - not many - and have them hanging all over the house. I'd like to have a good way to display my work for sale, but there is a lot of competition in this city and I'm not that confident that my work would sell well. I'm still learning. I hope I will continue to learn and paint for many years. Have you worked in any other medium? I've only worked in pastels and really love it, so I'm not anxious to try anything new.

Wow, your panter drawing is really wonderful, I love the expression in the eyes. I would say your art work would sell for sure.

Wooww - The panter looks really like it were alive, looking at you, thanks for showing it. You may find some ideas in this discussion how to sell on the Internet. I have worked with oil, acryl, water colours and combinations of these. The easiest for me is acryl, you use only water and you can always make changes if it goes wrong.

Thanks. The problem with selling pastel paintings is that they must be double matted and covered with glass or they will smudge and ruin. By the time I invest in framing and matting a piece it costs more than one hundred dollars US. So I have to sell them for $200 or more, depending on the frame, to make any money from it. There aren't a lot of people willing to pay that much for an unknown artist, it seems. But I have sold a few of them. So maybe if I had the right venue they would sell better.

Thanks, artguy, I like your way to paint, I have also tried to make some surrealistic paintings and it would be interesting to develop it further. Hope you sell many paintings..:)

mother raccoon and baby and a cougar painted on ro - These are two of the rock paintings. One is of a mother raccoon with her baby and the other is a mountain lion.
I enjoy painting. I use acryllics mostly and I like to paint animals on rocks and flowers and beach scenes on sea shells. It's a kind of therapy for me. I have some of my old oil paintings that I did years and years ago, but I get sick of looking at them! I have sold some of my rocks and shells. One of these days I will try canvas again. Is your avatar a painting or a photo?

Thank you. I am hoping to start a web site, but don't know what I'm doing, so I'm going nowhere fast. I have some photos on shareapic. Your photo is lovely. I've always wanted to visit the Scandinavian countries. They look so beautiful!

I have been drawing and painting since I was a young child. I was away from it for a lot of years and then about 20 years ago I took some decorative painting classes from a wonderful artist in my neighbourhood. Now I do painting on canvas, on rocks, on wood and I also do colored pencil sketching.

I checked your still life drawing, it is really good. Seems you are a real artist and working with a lot of different things, you must be having a great time doing it.
