She has the push in her singing style, but has to work on the lyrics as the latter aint easy. Though she has acted in many movies like Cheaper By the Dozen with great actors like Steve Martin, I believe that she would face huge competition. Its nice to see someone so young coming forward and making an album of her own with her hit song "So yesterday". So I would not only prefer but also want her to be a singer. Because you being a singer can get breaks to act in movies as well based on your popularity and ofcourse little bit of acting skills, but on the other hand if you are an actress, its not certain that you would be a good singer as well. Singer vs Actress Most Singers have to make their own songs. Thats why their momentum of popularity is fast. But, actresses don't have to make their own scripts. They just do what they are asked to do, which builds comparisons with other actresses. In order to maintain her stardome as an actress she presently she can be an enthusiastic host but her primary focus should be on Singing...

Well, she was an actress first on Lizzie McGuire. Then someone discovered she could sing some. I think I like her best as an actress. She has had some really nice movies. The Perfect Man, Raise Your Voice. Her music seems a bit young. Maybe when she matures some, she will be better.
