Hi everyone! I was in the market for purchasing a DVD Writer that supported LightScribe. I was curious to find out what other people think of their LightScribe drive? What has been your experience? Positive or negative? Would you recommend it? Also, which brand do you have?

The problem with LightScribe is the price of the media. It can reach about 4 to 10 times more expensive then normal medias. And I don't know if the technology has evolved but when I read about it it could only make black and white writing. I never bought one since one of my friends have one and he never used it because of the price of the media.

It is 10 months since you started this discussion, and the technology still has not managed to gain popularity. I recently bought a lightscribe DVD writer, although it was purely by chance that it was lightscribe. The media is still very expensive and a pack of 10 CDs cost around £6, so apart from trying it for curiosity I am unlikely to bother with it. I can purchase printable CDs and DVDs for a fraction of the price and print them on my Epson printer, so Lightscribe is very unlikely to succeed.

Lightscribe? I haven't heard of that. Is it a new optical media device? Anyway, such unheard technology should have not been deeply tested. The media could also be expensive now like the CDs before.
