And now I ache from top to bottom! I don't think my knees are speaking to me except to scream "Have you lost your mind?!"
I did take my daughter with me. I spent $15 each for ride bracelets for the 2 of us and another $13 for games. We were there for nearly 6 hours, traipsing back & forth from one ride to the next, walking over the uneven ground, climbing on & off the rides. By the time I paid for the bracelets and the games, I didn't have any money left for food, which was just as well - $4.00 for just ONE elephant ear! When I saw that, I didn't bother looking at the rest of the prices. I even got my daughter to ride a horse on the carousel which doesn't sound like a big deal but was for her. She's been scared of riding the horses on there since she was 3. She would only ride on the bench but last night she just climbed up and got on one! She discovered she loves the Tilt-A-Whirl and the carousel, is scared of the octopus/spider ride, and we both found out that she's grown so much (since the last time we got to go to a carnival) that she's now too big for the little kiddie rides she loves. She wants to go back and I'm considering it, but it will have to wait for a few days until my legs recover. :)

Sorry you are aching but at least you had a lovely Day lol
These Carnivals are very tiring I have not been to one for years now lol
They are far to expensive now and my Kids are Adults now so they do themselves now with their own momney lol

I wouldn't have stayed so long but I was determined to get my money's worth out of those bracelets. As it was I nearly had to drag my daughter out of there. LOL I swear I gave birth to the Energizer Bunny! Like I figured tho, as soon as she was away from there and had eaten something (we went to Steak & Shake), she started falling asleep in the restaurant. :D

Oh how fun- Your daughter sounds like she had a ball- your body will recover- Isn't it great the things we do for our kids? I take my daughter every year to the amusement park at least 4 or 5 times a summer- The roller coasters and tilt-a whirl- always end up getting the best of me by the time we leave- but she has endless hours of fun! We usally stay all day- and cook out and then go back in after dinner- You're right the food at these places are high- I love these day outings- Your daughter will remember these trips forever!

Good for you, Gumball! What a great day for you and your daughter! I know it's exhausting but you made a super memory with her by doing it. I sooooo miss going on the rides at carnivals. We still try to take the girls to a local one every summer (even though they're older now) but I haven't been able to do the rides since my first pregnancy!! I get incredibly dizzy and nauseous now in a way that I never did before. I have to stand on the sidelines and watch everyone else ride. So, once you've had a chance to recover, I do hope you'll consider going back :) :) I really envy you!

OMG! The Scrambler was my favorite ride EVER! LOL After riding that for awhile, I'd get brave and ride the "Swings". The Tilt-A-Whirl was always a hoot with a few people in each "car"! I vividly remember when my friends started to graduate to rides like "The Zipper"... and I couldn't do it LOL Anything that was flipping me upside down while being that high off the ground just didn't seem reasonable to me.
I honestly haven't tried Dramamine LOL but thanks for that suggestion! Gravol didn't help me so I kind of gave up. Maybe there will be a few more carnival rides in my future YET! *grin*

Bonine pills are better than Dramamine, taste better too - no nasty aftertaste. Yuk. They (Bonine) last for 24 hours. I use them when I'm going to be flying on a plane or riding rides, just didn't have them yesterday and got the Dramamine instead. The Scrambler was the first ride we went on and she was scared stiff the whole time. Hid her face against me and tried to get them to stop the ride. But then we got on the tilt-a-whirl and started spinning fast, and she was hooked. I think if I hadn't been so tired she might have been willing to try the Scrambler again. :)

I get dizzy on the rides too but I prepared for it with some Dramamine. They kicked in somewhere around the third ride. LOL I worked my way up to the octopus/spider by riding the scrambler and the tilt-a-whirl a lot first. By the third or fourth ride I'm used to the motion so it doesn't bother me anymore.
The main reason they're having a carnival is because of the Memorial day weekend and the Indy 500 coming up soon. Where I live is less than 40 miles from there plus we have our own race called the Little 500 with the smaller Indy style cars. So the carnival should be here for a couple of weeks. I'll have time to recover so we can do it all over again next weekend. LOL

Your body has a way of letting you know that you're not as young as you used to be. You also woke up some of your dormant muscles. Been there done that and I haven't been to a fair or carnival in years because I know I'll be in pain and just plain tuckered out because of it.

It sounds like your daughter had a blast with you at the carnival. I remember doing this with my kids when they were younger. The prices were always high for the foods, and I was always exhausted by the time we got home, but they always had a good time.

I love going to these parks, I especially like the roller coaster rides, the big and fast ones. Perhaps I shouldn't but I do. Yea, you should go back because you will find out that she loves going to these things, at least I love the rides. I don't go to the fair (carnival) so much to ride the rides, but for the other attractions, I love the amusement parks better because their rides are much better, you know? Well I will have to talk to you later.

How nice it is . It would add to your happiness when the child listens and keeps up with your advices.I know, though we cannot expect from the child cent percent YES, we feel great while the child grows and listens to us.
Good Wishes in your Life.

I love going to carnivals, but I don't ride the rides. I used to love the rides, but when I hit about 18 or 19, they started to not agree with me so much. After many years of riding them, one day I decided to just throw up out of nowhere. Now, if I go to an amusement park, I will ride some of the rides as long as they don't go in circles. LOL. Coasters, things that go up and down, and water rides are the best, but if it goes in circles...forget it. :)
I'm glad you guys had fun. You two needed that and I can just see you dragging her out of there after six hours, which is a pretty good stay. It's awesome she rode a horse on the carousel. I ride with Mariah once in a while, but the horses hurt my hiney. LOL

I wanted to ride one of the horses too, but they made me get off, I was too big. LOL Guess I'll have to wait until we go to the Children's Museum again and ride that one. :D
She was OK with most of the spinning but when we got on the octopus/spider ride she was scared stiff. I think it was the up & down motion that got her. Nearly got me too until I closed my eyes and let my stomach adjust to the motion. I was fine after that. :)
