Bring Maddy Home - An Apology!

I started a discussion yesterday about little Maddy McCann and put a link to what I thought was an official website! I have since found out that the website I had linked to was not an official website, although it does have links to the official site - I think this one was started by a newspaper! After reading a friends discussion and doing a little research I have found out that there are some people trying to make money out of this horrible tragedy by setting up false websites! These people must be truly sick and need to seek out some professional help! Anyway I want to apologise to you all for puttng in a link to the wrong site and let you know I would never have done so on purpose! Instead of putting in a link to the official site I am putting in a link to my friends discussion (with his permission) where he will probably explain things better and has links to the official sites! Again I am really very sorry! I hope you can all forgive me for this oversight as I feel really very bad about the whole thing!

These things do happen, so I wouldn't worry too much about it really mummymo. Your intentions were right and proper and the website was visited and gets the info out about Maddy. It's also been on the news this morning that a Swedish woman is adamant she saw Maddy in Marakesh over 12 days ago. So there is hope! xxx

I read about this the other day and this is one of the reasons we need to keep Maddy on everyones mind - she could be anywhere in the world so the more people who know about her the better! Where there is hope we can never give up - I know I am going to keep praying! xxx

I actually don't see it as a problem that some people make fake websites, the point of the websites is to get her face out to as many people as possible, even the fake websites serve that purpose, and so what if someone make a buck on it, if only Maddy gets back to her family.

It is a problem as some of the fake websites contain VERY adult content, and its not just a few bucks they are trying to make, the amount can be very large, for something like this there can be no excuses for setting up these fake sites, only the official ones can get Madeleine's photograph out to the world.
These evil people are not interested in getting Madeleine back to her family.

if the wrong website was simply a newspaper site then there is no problem, they are just trying to find her. It is quite disgusting if there really are sites out there which are simply trying to get our money. i like to think that even criminals have some sort of morals as not to try and profit from something so terrible

I don't think you need to apologise, as the site in question was trying to get publicity for Madeleine, unlike the many other ones which are only after the money and couldn't care less about the missing child. There is a chance that publicity (even on here) could make someone see Madeleine and have her found.

Eskimo you are always so understanding! I am pretty sure now that the site I put out was for a national paper but I didn't want to take the chance of somebody being conned - I saw where you could donate money by rexting and that just ade me want to really be careful! Thanks for pointing out the official sites honey! xxx

The whole situation is just heartbreaking honey - I am so hopeful that they will find her soon - I cannot even begin to comprehend how her parents must feel! The witness in the Belgian sighting seems credible but at least they may be able to verify whether or not it was her! i am still praying for her sweets! xx

Don´t worry about it. You meant well and that´s the most important thing :-).
You probably couldn´t imagine that some people are trying to make money by setting up false websites. It´s so disgusting. How mentally deranged these individuals must be. I wonder what these people would do if it happened to their kids.
Don´t feel bad or guilty about having sent the link. I know you would have never done it on purpose and I´m sure everyone else does too.
Thanks for sending the other link.
Bless you
XXX Dana

Thank you so much my dearest Dana! I have seen bad things going on for many years and while I know that these things happen I still want to see the good in everyone - too trusting and naive maybe but that is me and I won't let these people change me! I did ask my friend for permission to link to his discussion and of course he is so lovely he didn't mind! He , like us believes that the more people who know about Maddy the better! Thank you sweetheart - lets keep up the prayers! xxx

Thanks for starting this discussion.I just went to give a donation.I hope this doesn't drag on.I so hope they find her soon.We all have to send good thoughts and prayers out there to find this child...It is so scarey for every parent and grandparent..every aunt, uncle, and friend is hanging on the children a little tighter. We all have to watch our kids and protect them...There are bad people in our world...
I find it hard to believe that anyone could hurt a child but it happens...I sometimes wonder what is wrong with this world when a small child can not peacefully sleep in their bed safely!!

No need for apologies here. What you are doing by tring to get the word out is great.. You have a huge heart and that is not always common these days. I feel bad for this family and hope they find her soon. What a beautiful little girl she is. I haven't followed the entire story and I feel bad about it, but I am off to read about it now. Thanks so much for keeping us updated on this case.

That is sick. How can people be so evil?
I was just reading about her in the Sunday paper yesterday. The poor little mite. I was so hoping they would have some more answers by now.
