One of my brothers suffers from schizophernia. He was diognized 4 years ago and he still continues to be on medicine(olanzapine 10mg)and it depresses me immensely..he's almost 24 and yet not mature enough..he says he hears voices though that has reduced a lot or almost gone.he acts normal most of the times but there are times when he just acts weird like he would get angry looking at dad's leg..he's say things to my parents like why are u breathing so loud..etc..it really puts us down..do anyone of u know the cure for schizophernia..

As far as I know there's no cure, there're medicine and in most cases the patient can lead a pretty normal life as long as he or she takes the medicine, but a cure no... Sorry ...

No im afraid medical science has no cure for schizophrenia. Social Psychiatrists also point out, we dont understand exactly what constitutes schizophrenia but rather gather behavoural problems together under a banner which will do as well as any other. It is unlikely we will ever find a cure, instead perhaps we should look at ways of making society more tollerent of all expressions,
blessed be

One thing is good to remember, our brain needs a special kind of food. About 60% of the brain consists of fat and a large part of this fat should be Omega3, from fat fish.
The best thing would be to take cold pressed fish oil, since the heating can destroy the good function of it.
We also need cold pressed vegetable oils.
If you can find the book by Dr Joaquin Gonzales Aragón somewhere, it would be interesting to read about his research how omega3 fats can prevent depression, ADHD, damp, and yes, even schizophrenia, Alzheimer´s disease and dementia.
You will find more info in my profile.
We should try to avoid sugar, white flour and white rice, they all make the blood sugar level go up and down while full grain and protein and vegetables keep it more stable and that can affect your mood in a positive way.
It is also very important to avoid trans fats and fried, so called junk food, that disturbs the sensitive balance of fats in the brain.
This advice is good for all of us and especially for those who have mental problems.
If you cannot get cold pressed fish oil, just eat three or four fish meals a week, but not fried. This will help all of you and makes it easier to cope with a mentally sick person.
At least this does not do any harm, I have no own experience about how the oil works in a case like this but I have much less depression and become a lot more creative when I take 2-3 capsules of the cold pressed salmon oil that is available here.

There is no treatment available yet which actually cures it. Medication can suppress it a lot and in the worst cases surgery is sometimes applied but the a final cure is still being waited for.
