Do you refer people to moneymaking sites that haven't paid you yet?

I wouldn't feel bad referring anyone to mylot, or other sites that have actually paid me. But today I wrote a blog entry about a "rebate" site that I'm on, thinking to maybe get a referral. After thinking about it for a few moments, I decided to go back and change that entry. I just can't bring myself to try to make referrals for sites that haven't paid me yet, because I would feel bad if they turned out to be scams. Do you refer people to sites that haven't paid you yet? Do you admit that you're not sure about them, or lie and say they have paid you?

I don't like doing that simply because I feel it's rather dishonest. I know what it's like to go somewhere and work hard and hope to get paid, and then the disappointment that comes when you find out they are going to pay you. I don't like being lied to and I hate when others lie to me about making money online, so I try to stick with sites that I know pay, and if I don't trust what the person is saying, or it sounds too good to be true, I steer clear of them. So, I only make it a point to be honest when I refer people, which is hardly at all.

No I always refer people to only sites I have been paid at, even then you might have been paid once just to entice you to stay....but mylot is a safe bet. Actually I lie, I did refer some friends to clixsence and I have had a payment there yet....but I'm sure they will!

Nothing wrong as long you are honest about it. When I write reviews on them on my blog, I said up front that I am not yet paid so do your own due diligence.

Admittedly, I was into several money-making sites before myLot was introduced to me. Yes, they promise me (& several others) of big bucks; but I really can't understand the whole process. Some sites, for instance, require you to have a website. In my current state / status, I really can't afford to buy or create one. Still, some require you to download programs which promise "sure" money coming. Of course, they want you to make referrals. But same with you, I can't bring myself to refer my friends & acquaintances to them without telling them that I haven't proven the "instant money promise" myself. Also, I relate it to friends first before referring them, if & only if my friends are interested & convinced. So far, I haven't received any from these sites. Hopefully, I will be receiving my prize from myLot soon. I have only been a member for more than a month in myLot.

I think you can refer to others if you believe sincerely that those sites may pay in future even if you have not earned any money.

Unless the program only pays you for referral earnings, like affiliate sites, you could wait. But... why? If they don't pay you, your referras will find out sooner or later as well. It only costs time, not money. So, don't blame yourself for something like that. ~[W.I.C.]

As a general rule until I get cash in hand I don't recommend them. I will put a side note on a couple if I have heard and seen proof from many that they have recieved cash but I make sure to specify that I have not received any cash yet. That is rare for me to do. Usually it's just the ones that I have gotten cash on the barrell head for and then I'll recommend them. I agree with you if I recommend it and then it turns out to be a scam I feel bad. I don't want to have that happen to others. It's one thing if I'm taken but to know I helped them to take in others would make it a hundred times worse.

No, generally I wait the first payment, so if someone wants to join the site under me I can say that I was paid.

It depends on what kind of moneymaking site you are talking about. If it's one that will cost the referral a fee, then I wouldn't do it until I was paid or knew someone who got paid. But if it's a free site like AGLOCO, Resource-A-Day or Take The Internet Back, then I would try and recruit new members. If anyone wants to sign-up for the free sites I just mentioned, just contact me here at MyLot and I will give you the affiliate links. Resource-A-Day and Take The Internet Back both pay a $10 sign-up bonus. I'm still waiting for the Viewbar to be released for AGLOCO. Lloyd

Let me ask you this: did you refer people to myLot before you reached payout? I will promote some, but not all, moneymaking sites before they pay me simply because a lot of them rest on having referrals in order to reach payout. examples of this are Donkeymails, TIB, and several others. If you tread the TOS at TIB, you don't reach payout until you have at least one referral. The Internet is a networking game, and you need referrals to make any money. Now, if you want to wait until I have proof of payment, you're not really serious enough to take the risks that are required for true Internet Marketing. If anyone is interested, all the programs on my Profile page have paid me, and are free to sign up.

I didn't actually refer anyone to mylot before I reached payout. But then I reached payout my first month, so it wasn't really a problem for me. I hvaen't done TIB, so I don't know about that one. That's an interesting rule though. Thanks for your response, and the information!

Yes it has happened, but I always tell the truth about the sites. For instance if I haven't been paid yet I tell them I am a member but I haven't been paid yet On my webpage, I have listed many of the sites I use and next to most of them I have added how much I have been paid so far. I am not going to lie to get referrals (i.e saying I have been paid if not ) because if the site turns out to be a scam then I would feel to bad ... I would already feel bad if I ahd told the person I had not been paid yet, but at least I have been honest about it And it happend once : a program someone I trusted referred me to turned out to be scam and I had referred one person to that site, and I really felt bad for that person when I saw it was a scam ... but I pmed her right away to warn her about the site... hoepfully all the sits I use are free ... I would NEVER try to refer someone to a paying site if I had not been paid myself!! I don't want to lie but so many people here do so you really have to be careful with who you trust

well every body, say, who is been cheated by some fake websites knows the pain. hours that were wasted. so i agree with you. i cannot invite my friends on a website only because i am there.people have their reputation to keep.and also it is morally correct choice. thanks for triggering such a discussion. this is a kind of stuff we need to live moral life. have a good day!

No i dont refer people to sites that havent paid me yet. I clearly mention the times i have been paid by the site which i am recommending and if i promote a site which has not paid me yet i clearly say that i am yet to reach my payout. I have no intentions of pulling in people where i am not sure of the results.

I have done referrals in the past and I got no luck. Referrals are hard in my opinion, unless you know where to search. I just tell people about the website because it's easier. I haven't even received any referrals from this website. I made a one paragraph blog entry last week about how great Mylot is and posted my referral link at the bottom. Still, no luck. What I found out later was that there had been many blog entries on that same website talking about Mylot.

I think its pretty rude to do that. If I'm going to tout a site I want to make certain I'm giving reasonable information to friends - otherwise they won't stay friends long - ya know

yup. even if i am too excited to refer my friends to the site i am in, i still try to be calm and be patient until i have proofs to show them. i don't want ending up ruining their trusts on me.

I wouldn't do that i want to check it out first before i referr to someone. If i know a site doesn't even pay than i would warn other people not to get involved with that program.

Well I have once, but generally I don't. The only reason I did one time was because even though I didn't get paid by them I had friends that showed me proof that they got paid, so I knew the site would pay. The site actually paid me shortly after but it doesn't always work out like that. My personal rule is if I haven't made some money with a site, then I'm not going to get others to join me unless I know 100% they will pay. So 99% of the sites I refer people to have already paid me, and the other 1% are sites that I have close friends that got paid. Good question to ask, have a good day :)
