Is your religion better than others?

I am a Catholic and up to this very day a practicing and faithful catholic. I just don't understand why some people boast of their supremacy of religion over another religion.I believe that what is more important is our personal relationship with God and how we apply His teachings in our everyday life. Do you agree with me?

I dont think any religion is better than any other, never have been never will be....and though I believe and KNOW that MY personal spiritual path IS the best for me..that doesnt mean its better than yours, his, hers and so on....Why do some ppl boast and make claims that their way is the best way...conditioning unfortunately...some religions TEACH that to their followers and almost demand that they take on that view which IMO is just ludacris really.....

I think that my religion is the best religion for me. Whether it's the best religion out of all religions, I neither know nor care. What is important to me is that I have a personal relationship with my Gods, a fulfilling spiritual life, and that I can be happy with the choices I have made. I don't really understand people who feel the need to run around saying "My religion is better" all the time either. Why would you need to say that if you were happy in your religion? What are they trying to prove, and are they really trying to prove it to themselves, or to me? My personal religion is Celtic Reconstruction Paganism by the way. It has been my whole life, or at least since I was four years old and really started learning about religion.

I too, am a Catholic. My belief is based around the very foundation of its teachings, but I don't go around shoving it into people's faces that this mine is the best religion in the world. I believe that only God knows what religion is right and best, if ever there is. It's more of how your religion makes you the best person you could ever be when it comes to being good, just, compassionate, generous/charitable, and all the other characteristics or attitude a true Christian, or a true person of religion. As they say, you should practice what you preach. And it's in the application or putting into action of what you've learned that you make your religion at its best.

I belong to the school of separating God-Made, God-Willing from Man-Made and Man-Willing. Spirituality, or God's presence is the root of all that is good and we forget this when it comes to worshipping the almighty. We forget that the Almighty is beyond our petty squabbles. On the other hand, man is selfish and jealous and all that is man-made ends up being a mess, including religion. If this were not the case, we should have discussion forums going on and on about the "My God is Bigger than Your God" syndrome. I'm sure God, or whoever is up there, is laughing at Man's sillyness if it did not end up with so many tragic results.

Hi Giabelle, I think that we all worship in our own way. Part of being religious, faithful and practicing your religion is acceptance of others beliefs. I too am Catholic but I have chosen to attend a non-denominational church. It is wonderful and we all respect each other's ways of approaching our God. I agree with you 100%, our relationship with God and living in a godly way in our lives is all that matters. Very nice discussion, you take care and God Bless You and yours...

I think the person should frequent the religion that him if you/he/she feels well, of course that religion should teach the charity and the love to the neighbor. If the person feels well there is there that she should go, and to do the most important to put the teachings learned there in practice in in his/her day day, changing his/her form of living for better.His/her religion that imports God doesn't matter is his/her life conduct in the Earth, the form that you live his/her life. Not to speak the angels' language, archangels and serafins if you don't have love in the heart. We will respect the people's religion of all, each one has his/her faith and those teachings that Jesus left will proceed is us simple almost nobody puts in practice in their lives. To love God on all of the things To love the neighbor as to you even That is the great true of the life. That God lights up to all, thank you

well obviously I think mines the best, or I wouldn't be in it, would I. But I don't feel any need to go round telling other people they should follow mine because it's better, because they have to draw their own conclusions.

I don't belong to a special religion, I try to believe in them all, at least in their right teachings for life and for spiritual good. So I am very interested in learning from other religions and cultures, and when I find something correct on them (I think they all have something good) I add it to my beliefs. I think all religions have a background knowaldge that comes from God (or Godess, or Gods or whatever) so if I learn from them I have a better personal relation with The Creator. So I agree with you :).

It depends upon the people that follows the religion if the people in your religion loves everybody ,cares for every thing in the world not only humans but all the living things ,then your peple and your religion are better than others if other religious people are doing virtuous acts all the credits to that religion and people of that religion.

in my point of view no religion in the world greater then other religion every religion in the world will teach you and guide you in good manner only may be in different ways that differences most of the other religion will not under stand this logic. every religion having there own way to tell the truth about the world. depends up on the location which religion is grown methods may different. if you take Hinduism it is started 5000 years before Christ now tell me can we compare this religion with other religions which are very very younger then Hinduism?? if see the African continent there are having so many religions. every group of people having there own way to pray the god they don't know about any other religion in the world other then there religion till last century so how can we say that our religion greater then them. because they also think like that only before human beings are well civilized every body having there own language and them self are created rule and regulations for there convenient, and those days transport is very limited distance so there is no connection between any two civilizations because of that they don't have proper understanding any religion will teach good things only people should think that manner and increase the humanity in there community that will reduce the so many problems and also reduce the problems like terrorism mainly if your not interfere other religion matters that is sufficient to keep peace in the world

There is nothing called as a 'BETTER RELIGION'. Every religion says the same thing, 'God is one, Faith in God will uplift you in your life'. Thats all. Every religion will be a better one for its followers. Its really doesn't mean anything to compare one religion with the other. This question is just like asking 'Is your children better than the others?'. Every children will be the best for their parent.

As a citizen residing in a country where Catholic is most abundant, Catholic is the best religion for all people. But to tell you, I am not practicing "christianity" as a Catholic would. I do attend worships at Evangelical churches, because I can worship God directly by praising him and attest my faith to him by sharing my experiences in life, and how God helped me through its struggles. I'm not against Catholic but i don't like the way they praise statues and how they wipe they handkerchiefs on the saints, where in fact, they can pray to God directly by not asking the saints. I'm not against it, but you were right. Our personal relationship with God is the most essential, regardless of your Religion.
