I would like to start a non-profit organization in the community that I grew up in. I would like to provide a youth center with a computer lab, provide tutoring services and other free services to kids of low income families. I would also like to start a drug awareness program and a program for prevention of teen pregnancy. I know that I would need a grant of some sort so, I would appreciate any help.

Our local community college has classes on runnung a non-profit and grant writing and they are both pretty cheap. Most of the websites I've found on grants are scams that want to sell you a list that you could find yourself. Also some cities will have a free local non-profit business center. The libraby ca also be great for finding grant writing books and it's cheap. I've been very interested in starting something but I'm finding funding short where I'm at so I've decided to kind of branch off of another local group. In turn them already being established helps people know their name and are willing to donate to a known name.
I wish you the best of luck the world needs more peoples willing to help others!!
