I am curious if any of you have read the book A Child Called It? If you havent I suggest and recommend renting it from the library or even picking it up from a local bookstore to read. This story is so sad and heartbreaking it truly gives you a view from a childs eyes! Just cannot believe how terrible a childs life can be and how some just see it going on and let it happen! How sad!

I read that book when I was in High school. It's a very good book but also very sad. I understand that his mother had mental issues but I still can't believe a mother could treat her child like that; or how a father can allow abuse to go on.

Im with you on that. I never did understand why the father let it go on. That is terrible. Me and my husband always talk about how it can be so strange the way one parent can disown or treat their child horrible and the other parent will either disown them right along with the other one or will treat them bad because the other parent is. I never understood this, if my husband ever decided to disown my children, I still would Never.
