Im Having Puppies! HELP!

So my girl dog is having her first litter of pups, yay, but im a little nervous because its hers and my first litter and im not quite sure what to expect. She is due any day and she is massive. How should i prepare myself, what should i do, i need all the advice i can get!

I do not know what you should expect. But, recently my dog looks like she could be prego... But it is just her teets are starting to hang and look pretty full. have you ever seen a dog go through a fake pregnancy. I need to know if it is even possible.

My boyfriends parent breed miniature foxies and recently their eldest dog has been having phantom pregnancies. Its all the symptoms of pregnancy, gaining weight, suppressing milk, crawling into dark places, but she hasnt been having any puppies. Just watch out because if it is a phantom her milk could dry up in her teats and kill her. My advice would be to seek out a vet to have a look. Better to be safe then sorry!

Is it like humans on films when you just need lots of hot water and cloths available. If all goes well just make sure she is cosy and she should be able to do it all herself - animals do in the wild. Be ready to help her clean them up and rub them to get them breathing if they need it. Have you seen programmes where sometimes people need to swing them to get them started! We saw some lambing on Blue Peter last week.
